Yea, that's a possibility. Us lowbies might do something dangerous with certain videos... like submit more of them. =X
Oh well, feel free to submit it yourself since apparently I'm not allowed. =)

I think that once you reach higher levels (e.g., bronze, silver, gold), you are able post post more types of embeds. I would ask one of the senior members, though.

Hey, how did you get the PeeWee video to embed? I never could get figure out why it told me that the embed was invalid.
I get the same error on another video I've been trying to embed (see below)... any suggestions?
(edit: wtf, why does it work here but won't let me submit it??)

I can't speak for chilaxe, but for me it's the tedium rather than the physicality I'd like to avoid. I can't see much of a health benefit from filling envelopes or scrubbing septic tanks. One could argue that it "builds character", but so does learning advanced physics or training for a marathon.
There are many jobs that people would rather not do if their livelihoods weren't dependent upon them, and many of those jobs could (or soon will) be performed by robots rather than people. I don't think that situation, in itself, is a bad thing. I'd rather spend my time improving myself both physically and intellectually, but I also have to eat so that means I need my jobs (I have three currently).
I do agree with you on the value of physical work, but if we end up in a world where people can choose their own methods rather than choosing those that pay well then I believe we will benefit from such a world both individually and societally.

Studies are showing that the healthiest and longest-lived people in the world do some daily manual labor their whole life. There's nothing tedious about accomplishing something with your own sweat and two hands: in fact there's nothing more rewarding.
Physical activity is certainly a very healthy thing.
Personally though, I'd rather go hiking than bolt wheels to car frames every day.
I didn't think much of physical labor either until...

I'm depressed that we haven't even been to the god damn moon since the 70's... yet in our minds we dream of going to other solar systems.
What's so great about the moon? It looks pretty boring to me. I'd much rather be here than there. Wait 20 years and see if you still think a rock floating around in space is more exciting than the virtual worlds we can create here at home.
Personally, I think the I-Phone is going to be the high water mark of human culture and I don't even own one.
People still have iPhones?
Aw, which part was the downvote for? =)

Ok, np. I wasn't really concerned about the vote itself, I was just curious if you had a different interpretation of the situation. =)

Sorry, I misinterpreted your post and did a snap downvote.

I had the pleasure of attending the first communion for the son of my wife's sister a couple weeks back (he's 8 or so). Everyone was congratulating him with a similar exuberance to parents explaining to their children that Santa is real and is watching everyone. Poor kid.
I was surprised at the politics involved in the mass though. During one of the prayers, among all of the general blessings and requests, the priest threw in "and Lord, please help lead the nations of the world to adopt compassionate immigration policies". The random political injection caught me a bit off-guard.
Similarly, there was a time where people could speak out with prayer requests, like "please help Mr. Smith recover from his surgery". Then one guy's request was "Lord, please guide everyone to see that abortion is murder, and help us bring all of those involved to justice."
After the service I told the kid "congratulations", when I really wanted to say "run while you still can!"

I just sent out a communion card for my 8 year old sister and I'm not sure how to feel about it. I'm a pretty outspoken atheist so I wanted to write "So how did Jesus' flesh taste?" but instead I just wrote "Congratulations."
I'm a softy for 8 year olds getting dressed up and what not, but that's how they gettcha - no one wants to break the illusion.
On the other hand, trying to get those same kids to pay attention in science class, when there really is SO much wonder in the universe, and so much to discover is another thing. They all just came to the communion for the crackers.

its coming and theres nothing i can do about it. i just hope it doesnt get at all popular for another 40 years or so because i am checking out at 70. period.
Hey, I'm just curious what you meant by this. Are you saying that if you do not die naturally that you will take your own life at 70?
That's your choice if you want, I'm just wondering what your reasoning is behind that.
