I've been even more negligent in checking my profile let alone sifting lately. I try and push the boundaries whenever possible.

Hey! Sorry it's taken a bit to reply. I've been offline for awhile. Awesome sift btw.

Wow you're killing me here. I don't want to be evil dictator.. hey maybe I'll fire up the "define vintage" thread again. Once I started managing the channel, I've attempted to maintain a certain criterion for the channel. That is the clip must have been made or contains video made more than 20 years ago. I know there are a few exceptions.. I'm just not sure if this is one of them.

And I'm going to pre-emptively explain why http://www.videosift.com/video/Steampunk-laptop-brass-wood-windup-boot-key is in your channel.

While Eric's video is a modern news-piece, ths shorter clip I've sifted up is nothing but the vintage-ness. 19th-century awesomeness. Let me know what you think.

Speaking of the shifting context of Emo, have you seen the Fallout Boy, Sugar Going Down interpretation vid?

I don't blame you in the slightest. The context of the word has changed, only bitter music snobs like myself will be so picky.

Mm, fair enough - I guess I wasn't paying attention when the genre was being created (I was listening to it, just not making note of what you called this genre), and wen the current bastardized version took root, I of course had my mind latch onto the wrong interpretation.

Any die-hard Weezer fan will tell you they pioneered emo. Unfortunately emo got marred, maimed, scratched, and utterly torn apart in the following years. By bands like Simple Plan and Brand New.

In reply to this comment by Krupo:
Emo? Really? I assume this is in a kind of "before emo meant teh suck" sense, yes?

How is it possible that this vid got removed for a TOS violation???

In reply to this comment by Fedquip:
Thanks for pointing that out Krupo. Your right, it was like a cooking show as I had all the tabs prepared, I didn't have the Dupe screen in the presentation because like the moon landing, none of this actually happened. In the demonstration for how to submit a video, i never actually submitted anything. hmmm
