Steven Jones Pipes In About 9/11

shuac says...

If you believe 9/11 was an "inside job," then put up or shut up.

But you see, friend, by posting this video, we are, in pure point of fact, putting up. Since you didn't watch it and are insulting those who did, methinks you are the one that should do the shutting. Oooof! Pow! Whammy!

Steve Vai - Tender Surrender

i learned songs off this cd when i was younger, and because i know them so well i have to say i'm pretty damn sure this is mimed (but very convincingly). it doesnt detract from it at all, it's an awesome tune and he really brings out the emotion with his moves, but it is over-dubbed. this is basically a music video for song, not a live performance. the biggest giveaway is the whammy-gasm he has near the end is just too exact to the recording even when he's not doing much to make it so.

Dan Bau: Vietnamese Monochord Instrument

Theremins are analog already I know what you mean though, non-electronic.

It looks like an interesting instrument. Basically there is just one string, and it's plucked, and then the performer touches the string at various places along it's length to produce harmonics. The stick on the right side of the video is attached to the string, and you can increase or decrease tension, either to produce vibrato or to shift the pitch up or down (like a whammy bar on a guitar).

I wonder how hard it is to play.

real if we say so.....They needed a double or triple whammy...trank+tazer-crossbow..to cata-pillow......then the pan to the fan that dodged, and or caught some...Great nightly TV-see...Japan is not the only innovator....

Doesn't this devalue foreign Outrage?

Strange parallels with the Celebrity Big Brother row here in Britain where Shilpa was the apparent victim of racist abused from the other contestants and which caused similar scenes of effigy burning mayhem! BBC link here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/6285717.stm

Shilpa eventually won the show (beating Jermaine Jackson and Dirk Benedict from the A-Team: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6308443.stm

Shilpa sure does have some rabid fans! Gere never even pinched her bottom!

I like the reference to Autumn In New York - I can't believe that year we were hit with the double whammy of terminal illness romantic melodramas with both Autumn and Sweet November! What had the viewing public done to deserve such treatment?

Van Halen--Right Now

Goofball_Jones says...

Right Now:
Van Halen was wishing that Eddie wasn't such a big-headed ultra-ego-maniac and let down his guard and actually do something different than the finger-taps and dive-bombs on the whammy-bar that he's been doing over and over and over and over for the past 25 years. DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

Bah...one trick pony.
