star wars prequel-nostalgia critic gets owned by Mr plinkett

Jinx says...

Couldn't agree more on the lightsaber fights.

I think it was Lucas himself who asked that the lightsaber should be moved as if it had real weight even though it was made of, well, light. I think the fact the actors appear to have to exert themselves to throw and parry blows makes the whole thing seem more intense despite the slower pace of the fight. Vader crumbles under the shear force of the enraged Luke's blows - does anybody ever get overpowered in this manner in the prequels? I understand this logic that Jedi at the height of the Republic would be more skilled with a blade, but it results in two characters flailing around striking the air in front of their opponent with blows that appear to have no force behind them at all.

Batman vs. Darth Vader

I might expand this point to Vader's character (original trilogy.) Wouldn't Vader recognize a cunning opponent and attempt to persuade him to cross over? Bruce Wayne already started using the force a little, hasn't he? (Light Sabre?) A line or two about how Batman already treads near the Dark Side already, and how he could make a powerful ally to the empire ("Join me," or "don't make me destroy you,") could have added some depth to the story of an otherwise wonderfully produced short. (Plus, they captured Superman??? What is Batman doing in Space? How did they capture Superman? What else is going on?)

Anyways, if the goal of this video was to leave the audience wanting more, it's succeeded in me. I want answers.

Cool video. But, as a Batman fan I downvote this on principle alone...

History is based in lore my friend, so no, it started out as both. I don't think Vader was real...but then again it was never intended to be so. The problem is that they no longer use witty retorts and instead rely on crass words and fast beats.

I feel ya. Maybe because it started out as Battles of History, but now it is Battles of Lore?

Lawdeedaw says...

But ERB is not necessarily a place for real life historical figures...so it is within rights to go off the movie too... (See Darth Vader for not real past...the song would go kind of like...no lyrics from Vader, Hitler wins by default

Hm. A moderately (If I can judge that) historically acurate George Washington vs. the Mel Gibson fantasy of WIlliam Wallace. ERB has certainly done better in the past.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Wallace
"Sir William Wallace (...) was a Scottish landowner (...) a member of the lesser nobility (...)"

Most important, he was not a Highlander an as such did not wear a kilt or paint his face.

And....

"("Braveheart"), however, is a highly fictionalized account of Wallace's life and has been described by some as one of the most historically inaccurate modern films."

Vader is really calm when confronting the guy that left him for dead dismembered and roasted.
