You actually ignored the weaker parts of my argument.

If a history of violence against military and civilian targets is your grounds for banning an organisation, does that mean you want the Republican party banned for attacking a civilian news organisation, or military targets? How about the Democratic Party for essentially the same thing?

Who gets to choose when violence is justified?

Should the U.S. get to choose for everybody, including the 95.5% of the world population who are not U.S. citizens?

Claiming that an organisation is non-violent is not sufficient to prove innocence. It is quite possible to get a lengthy stay in prison in the U.S. for non-violent activities, such as online gaming, and in fact although I take the statistic with a grain of salt I have seen it claimed that 60% of U.S. prisoners are in prison for non-violent reasons. The number of U.S. prisoners (730 per 100,000) is in fact far higher than Chinese prisoners (121 per 100,000) by such a large percentage that the total prison population in the U.S. is higher than China despite having only about one third the total population (I hasten to point out that things have improved slightly since 2008, but my point stands).

BTW, don't get the idea that I have anything against the U.S., because I don't. I just don't accept that it is the bastion of freedom and that China is the evil empire.

Except the reasons behind the bans are completely significant. Hamas wasn't banned because of ideological differences. It was banned because the organization has a history of violence against both military and civilian targets. Conversely, Falun Gong was banned because it went against the status quo and China was threatened by its growing popularity. There has never been a case of someone committing violence in the name of Falun Gong.

There's no reason to put quotes around "security" or "public order" when referring to the reasoning behind the Hamas ban because those reasons are historically justified.

South Koreans have protested the US Military's presence for awhile now along with the residents of Okinawa who have suffered a few rapes of their citizens in the last few months. There was a mention of it in the papers but it was out of the press as quick as can be.

We don't ask for permission, we're an empire, but we don't have to be.

The prospect seems so outlandish but with all the disinformation we are fed, It's hard to know for sure.
Every fiber in my being says this is the most batshit crazy thinking I've ever seen.

But if it's so crazy then:
• Why do the experiments continue?
• Why did the highest level of the US military buy out every piece of HAARP and classify it at the highest level?
• Why won't they inform the public as to what they are really doing?

Perhaps some declassification would still the rumors a bit.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I do have trust-issues when it comes to Governments and Power.

I really don't see how telling someone to stop raping will have any effect on anyone bent on doing it.

It's OK I can take some criticism, but still the problem is right there. What would it be the solution? How should the military respond to this , female only army? Or just recruit only feminists and hipsters, that will defeat the purpose of having a strong army. In my opinion a strong army is made of strong individuals that most of the times are just the sort of individuals that have low respect for life otherwise will be a weak army. War isn't about feelings and fairness in my opinion.
If that makes me a lunatic that has no morals so be it. Still you'll have to remember that war is shit. And I'm not even defending war or advocating for rapists, only trying to make some sense with what the subject offers.

The solution? Simple.
Stop fucking raping people.
Not ok. At all. Ever. I don't give a shit who you are, where you are or what kind of stress you're under.
As to what the army should do? I'd start with locking the bastards up. If it happens on active duty, I'd charge them with treason.

I do agree the perpetrators should be judged for their actions.I see myself forced to include this statement as I see people jumped to wrong conclusions into judging my character, I've always regarded videosift as a better community when it comes to intelligent debates, and of course I still do. So, leaving out a statement like "I don't agree with rape" didn't meant "I support rape"
>> ^kymbos:

I don't know - a feminist and hipster army could be quite formidable. I'm glad we reached this level of intelligent debate about such a serious topic.
Meanwhile the Australian Defence Force has seen similar cultural resistance to dealing appropriately with sexual assault. We don't glorify our military quite as much as Americans, however.

Obviously the hipster/feminist argument was a bit of a stretch, a figure of speech, and needs to be taken that way.
And back to the question "What should the Army do?" How about don't mix genders, and stop self inflicted wounds.
What would the army actually gain from conscripting female soldiers anyway? The sheer fact that they don't have the physical strength to defend themselves would be a deal breaker for anyone that needs muscles for the job, isn't it?
And please refrain yourselves from calling me names or vote me down as this won't achieve anything constructive. I'am very aware that this is a sensible subject, but please keep hotheaded reactions out of it.
Thanks.

War zone isn't a place for manners and PC, war is war on any front bringing stress and frustration and in this case the sexual frustration is showing it's teeth. Females should acknowledge the facts in respect of what the war is doing to the males before jumping into this "serving the country" boat, hell even most of men have no clue beforehand. The way I see it - war brings you closer to your natural roots in terms of instincts and needs especially for sexually troubled soon to be adults males.
To me this looks more like a calculated damage form the radical feminists, to further push the anti male agenda, the "Man are Pigs and something has to be done about it"
Also would be very interesting to know what exactly constitutes as "rape" in today's america. For my knowledge there is a very wide range of actions or situations that constitutes as rape or sexual assault in this day and age and has nothing to do with the sexual intercourse.
I might be wrong, I'm no expert, but honestly the PC is sickens me.

No what this does is acknowledge that male soldiers rape female soldiers and something must be done about it, because what's being done is trying to actively exonerate rapists. You're like a racist saying, "well black people should understand that they're property and trying to change that is wrong."
You're a lunatic that has no morals.

hmm, i think a good start would be to acknowledge the victims of rape and prosecute the perps? As previously mentioned, the fact that rape exists in the military isn't especially shocking. What is shocking and surprising is this "boys will be boys" military attitude regarding the rapes. Lets be clear here. A strong military needs proficient female soldiers. If you want the best then you better not limit yourself to 50% of the population. Women shouldn't expect to be raped for serving their country anymore than they should expect to be raped when they wear something that doesn't reach their knees...The stress of war dies not excuse rape. Rapists have demonstrated that they are capable of committing this heinous crime against their comrades - the frontline of war is the last place such a person should be unless you like inviting warcrime tribunals upon yourself.

I think that maybe you advocating for the Devil...but I do wonder why.
