What do you do for work ? (Talks Talk Post)

enoch says...

i do not think i can call what i do officially work.
since i am a man of faith i tend to keep my life very simple and with as little trappings that would hinder my work.
1.wake up and first coffee and then morning prayers.

2.check emails for those in need of advice and counsel.(and dick around on facebook and VS)

3.procrastinate in getting out to my scheduled appointments (which is why i am always running late.i have some serious discipline issues concerning punctuality).the flavor of the appointments vary from addiction counseling to tarot readings and sometimes they may be just a spiritual boost for someone who is low and in need of company.(i live in a community with many elderly, and loneliness is a heart breaker).

4.usually around 4pm i start wrapping that part of the day up and head home for a shower and mid-afternoon prayer in order for me to get ready for the second part of my day where i bartend/wait tables at my long time friends resturaunt.

5.i do not make any actual tangible legal tender for the first part of my day.i may trade deal for something i need but usually i rely on the generosity and graciousness of those i help.i.e:the clothes i wear, the car i drive, the computer i am using right now were all gifted to me.even the house i reside in is a gift (well..kinda).

6.i do not own a credit card nor do i have a bank account.the cash i make from bartending and waiting tables is the cash i use to live and my paycheck goes to child support for my youngest child.

7.work till 10pm-11pm.come home.check emails again to see who or what needs help and in what fashion.mess around on facebook or VS for a bit and then off to study, read a book or watch something interesting.

8.night time prayers of gratitude for the day and all those who touch me,which can happen as early as 1am or as late as 3-4am.(depending on how much i am procrastinating).

i do fit family and friends (even a lovely woman) in that schedule but it is not always easy.thank god they love me.

How Digital Is Your World

eric3579 says...

Introducing the new Apple iPerson complete with multi touch and volume control, doesn’t it feel good to touch, doesn’t it feel good to touch, doesn’t it feel good to touch.

My world is so digital, I have forgotten what that feels like.
It used to be hard to connect when friends formed cliques, but now it’s even more difficult to connect now that clicks form friends.

But who am I to judge…

I face Facebook more than books face me hoping to book face to faces, I update my status 420 space to prove Im still breathing; failure.
To do this daily means my whole web wide world would forget that I exist. But with 3000 friends online only 5 I can count in real life, why wouldn’t I spend more time in the world where there are more people that LIKE me. Wouldn’t you?

Here it doesn’t matter if I am an amateur person, as long as I have a pro-file, my smile is 50% genuine and 50% genuine-HD, you will need blu-rays to read the whites of my teeth, but im not that focused.

Ten tabs open, hoping, my problems can be resolved with a 1600 x 1700 revolution, this is a problem with this evolution, doubled over, we used to sit in tree tops, till we swung down and stand up right, then someone slipped a disc, now we’re doubled over at desktops.

From the Garden of Eden, to the branches of Macintosh, Apple picking has always come at a great cost.
iPod, iMac, iPhone, iChat, I can do all of these things without making iContact.

We used to sprint to pick and store Blackberries, now we run to the Sprint store to pick Blackberrys, it’s scary.
I can’t hear the sound of mother nature speaking, over all that Tweeting, and along with it is our ability to feel as it’s fleeting.

You would think these headphone jacks inject in the flesh the way we connect, the disconnect, power ON. So we are powerless, they got us love drugged. Like e-pills, so we e-trade, e-mail, e-motion like e-commerce because now money can buy love, for 9.95 a month – click!

To proceed to checkout – click! To X out where our hearts once were – click!
I’ve uploaded this hug, I hope she gets it – click!
I’m making love to wife, I hope she’s logged in – click!
I’m holding my daughter over a Skype conference call while shes crying in the crib in the next room – click!

So when my phone goes off in my hip, I touch and I touch and I touch, because in a world where there are voices that are only read and laughter is never heard or I’m so desperate to feel that I hope the technologic in reverse the universes so the screen can touch me back, and maybe it will, when our technology is advance enough to make us human again.

YouTube video shows Syrian boy, 10, slain in home by sniper

No one period should be subjected to this type of oppression seeing this made me extremely angry even though I am American, it simply touched me as a human being as I hope it does all who see this and I hope that we can all as a species emerge from the violence of oppression in all it's forms to true enlightenment as one world united. But maybe I'm just a dreamer.

Someone who prays 6 hours a day is obviously not praying half-heartedly, but in your example she never hears from God. This is why I said you are clouded in your assumption because the example is reflective of your atheism towards God and not towards what we're discussing. As far as our positions go, you assume God doesn't exist. I know that He does exist. You can believe that I am deluded but this is a knowledge claim and not an assumption. If you don't want to reply to what I wrote, that is up to you, but I spent time writing it and I would appreciate that you would acknowledge what I said before we continue. Thanks.

Firstly, i do not know what you expect me to respond to in your post. Secondly, your post was based on the statement that my assumptions are clouded (which is unfair) and i thought you'd make another reply with that in mind. However i can see that you consider it fair to treat your opinions as more important than mine and therefore we must assume god exists, anything else is clouded judgement. I indirectly have the answer that i was looking for though; if god exists, he is not touching me through you today.

And i am always open to that happening, believe it or not. Maybe it will one day.

Thirdly, please do not assume that i am calling you deluded. Am i to assume you are calling me deluded to believe that he doesn't exist too?

And here began my crush on Christina Ricci, I would still let her touch me.

Man, same. I was crazy into her after this film. Though i find her slightly creepy now.
Which is odd; found her nice when she acted creepy and creepy when she acted nice!

Which ultimately explains why Pan Am has done so poorly.

Don't Touch me In My Studio!

Sagemind says...

Is it?
Intimidation is wrong whether the target is male or female. I don't think it makes a difference.

>> ^chilaxe:

Good for the male anchor who took the initiative and kept Visagie from trying to physically intimidate the other debater. A lot of people would have just sat there. Intimidation is always unprofessional, but doing it to a woman makes it even worse.
