Moreover when you promote a video it jumps up in your personal listing as if it was just sifted.
***the more you know ***
In reply to this comment by NicoleBee:
Ok what.. This video has dissapeared from my list completely now that I've promoted it?
EDIT: Oh, I see, I have a seperate section for them! Intersting.

Pack of Ghosts? No, Just Puppies
It's the new puppy-shaped, polyphonic Theremin.

'Electronica' is an antiquated 1990's marketing term for electronic music, much like 'Alternative' was a marketing term for rock, which has since been replaced by 'indie'. When I think of 'electronica', I think of more commercial electronic music. It just wouldn't feel right to invoke electronica on Aphex Twin or Squarepusher. 'Electronic music' is a timeless term that gives electronic musicians more respect and ties them to the larger history of electronic music, which dates back to the 1950's.
Electronic Music would also be more inclusive, because it would include early electronic music, like Stockhausen, Steve Reich, music concrete, the Theremin and other such awesomeness. Electro-Acoustic music (electronic music that uses live instruments) would also be covered by this term.
I'm not a purist or an overly protective electronic music fanboy, I'm just particular about music terminology. Don't even get me started on 'Classical Music'. (Classical music is a sub genre of concert music that ceased to exist hundred of years ago - think Mozart and Haydn.) Concert music, not classical. Electronic music, not electronica.
2 cents from a musician.
remind me to never argue music history with you..........ever.
asking permission to create my ELECTRONICA channel (User Poll by enoch)
as i have already told DFT.
i agree with him but i submit that electronic would be confusing for those who love engineering and new tech gadgets and electronic music, while more succinct and accurate would be two things:
too long a channel assignment
and
we already have a music channel.
the electronica channel is using a coined phrase to express the content.
so now instead of just having "music" we will also have "electronica" to express the sub genre.
and 100 points shall be awarded to DFT for mentioning the theremin.
and i shall now proceed in downloading DFT's entire music library.
and thanks for all your support guys.
since i was the first up on the roster for community voting on channels i was a bit trepidatious.

Pomplamoose covers Lady Gaga
>> ^volumptuous:
blech
If Lada Gaga isn't bad enough, now we have this. I know there's lots of fans here, and the band also parouses the sift and I hate to be mean to them, but holy hell this stuff is crazily boring to me.
I like them, but I know what you mean. Their reharmonized arrangements of banal pop tracks are clever and pithy, but at the end of the day, it's still a banal track at its core, and not the kind of thing I need to hear more than once. They could also stand to expand their orchestrational palette a bit too. Bust out that theremin. Get away from the drumset and bang on some household appliances. You don't need to have toy glock and toy piano on everything you do, the more you use them the less special those cool sounds become. There is a fine line between having a distinct stylized sound and having everything sound the same.
Sorry for the unsolicited advice if you are reading this Pomplamouse - as you are obviously very talented and have a huge fanase that loves you just as you are - but armchair criticism is the whole point of the internet, isn't it?
The VideoSift Pomplamoose Interview (Music Talk Post)
Great interview!
I really enjoyed the placement of the video for Pas Encore. It gave the interview a multimedia feel.
I think in the future more video referances positioned appropriately throughout the interview would be a great way to add depth for the reader. Maybe in a case like Pomplamoose it's possible to get some original video clips to add to the interview. 15 seconds of Jack pointing out his Theremin in the corner or Nataly saying 'Hello' to Videosifters in French would really make this interview stand out and underscore the nature of this website.
The best pedal demo ever.. by Jack Conte
Looks like a fun toy. I bet I could vocode the shite out of my theremin with this thing.

I promoted it from your discard pile, so let's give it another go. Also, I need it for my Theremin playlist.
