Some definitely came out better than others. I wish I could have done a better job with Issy's. That's the one I'm least satisfied with. I might do a few more.

That's true. I might go fully Linux and let the kids learn how to use it properly. It would probably be a good thing anyway. Alternatively, I'm thinking of building a Hackintosh.

I tried Ubuntu - it's very clean and pretty. I liked it a lot - then I put it in front of my SO and kids. Good luck trying to play a DVD or find files that they've saved. Regardles of the pretty surface of Linux - the underpinnings are old school unix file structures and operations. I lasted about a minute before opening a terminal window.

To each their own. Linux is great if you have the skills to keep it patched and manage your window manager. I would never recommend it to any of my non-techie friends. Even the file manager would drive them batty. I also do a bit of graphical stuff and would sorely miss Photardshop and Illustrator. I've tried Gimp.

One of the best CRPG's ever made, IMHO. Planescape, Icewind Dale... fantastic. They don't make CRPG's these days like they used to, unfortunately.

My one complaint about BG2... Yoshimo! Yoshimo was just plain awesome and had the best random comments next to Minsc.

"Hiiiii-ya! Tourists love that stuff."

And then he gets perma-killed half-way through the game which seriously gimps your party since he was the only decent thief NPC available. I remember how pissed I was the first time through the game since basically I was tripping every trap and having to leave locked chests behind since Imoen and Nalia were such piss-poor substitutes. The second time through I purposely rolled a thief just to make sure I got all the loot in the game.

Seriously, the game allows you to return your vampire-cursed girlfriend (who you wind up having to destroy) back from the dead but not some poor thief who got insta-gibbed? What's up with that?

the gimp says nah, the pimp of all pimps gives gimp a limp, and someone just shamelessly promoted themselves and used sift talk to do it-for shame!
