I always thought those super tall bikes were dumb until now. Looks like so much fun!!!

that's insane reasoning. A taller biker makes it a lot harder to keep balanced, not to mention if you lose your balance, even if you don't hurt yourself on the fall (which is perfectly possible) you'll still be thrown several feet away right into the oncoming traffic.
Bikes were perfected to the frames we now have for a reason.


I dunno, it makes sense to an extent, I mean, if a car hits you from the side on a normal bike you take the impact, but if you get hit on a tall bike your bike takes most of it. As for the balancing, it would probably take a bit of practice and would increase the damage from a fall due to the height, but the potential payoff is pretty high.

Tall bikes have been catching on amongst some here in Chicago. One dude who is a friend of a friend started riding tall bikes that he made years and years ago and it has since spread. They say it is much safer because at worst you are in for a minor fall instead of being smashed or thrown and they can more easily spot problems coming up to allow them to avoid accidents to begin with.
