Dudes try to act tough in a store, get some street justice

I find little to recommend in this really.
I hadn't noticed the kid in the beginning, but man, there's a kid who's going to have a fucked up life... poor little dude.
Without hearing anything that's going on, once again, we're seeing something without knowing the whole story. Not to say it certainly doesn't appear like those guys are complete dicks, but I have to say seeing one bunch of thugs beat up one guy and then get hit a few times does not a happy video make.
Having all of them subdued and restrained using some slick martial arts until the authorities arrived, so they could be charged.... that would have been nice.
A simple, quick takedown of one or all of them... also nice.
But this? This is just messed up shit.

Bottom right corner from 0-00:05 seconds.. even the kid is tan and shirtless, 00:15-00:31 seconds, guy in black shorts does a little taunting dance in the backround, 00:32 guy in red shirt confronts guy in black shorts for being a dumbass.

Fight breaks out at 00:32/00:33 and guy with kid is gone at least, but the guy with the black shorts jumps in. That, imo, is the end of an honourable fight. Now, fights aren't usually honourable to begin with, but making sure you have buddies before you go in..that's a dirty tactic. The reason the video is satisfying is because these two assholes get what they deserve. Not only did they provoke the fight to begin with, they fought dirty, too.

I like to provoke these kinds of guys (the shirtless guys). They exist everywhere, and will only try to bully someone if they outnumber and/or outsize their victim.
I'm a big boy, and I've been in many, many street fights. You should see the looks on their faces when they realize someone is not afraid of them, and may be actively plotting their own demise. Things tend to go a little differently after that.

Throbbin, I want to go drinking with you.

At least his use of the term was accurate.. so is calling a white southerner a 'redneck' racist?

No, It's classist. And it's offensive to some people as it's a term that denotes poverty more than anything else.
Cholo is definitely a racist term but like everything else, it needs context. I fully believe that in the context used above by "cherokee", yes, it was racist.
Someone once told me that you should never pull a gun unless you're going to use it. I'm going to remember that.

Back to the Racism debate.....

Before you say yes or not to this you have to ask yourself what defines race. Is it skin color, religion ethnicity or what else? If a Chinese-American began slinging the word Redneck around then it would most definitely be a racist use of the word. You also have to to remember that technically the definition (in short form) of a redneck is a poor WHITE southerner. WHITE/caucasian is a core element of the definition and therefore the epithet Redneck is based on race and a derogatory use of it would have to be, in some applications at least, racist. Your statement Ryjkyj that Redneck is classist merely shows that you are most likely from the white middle-class (thats not an insult or anything just an observation). otherwise you would think differently of the word.

In the same sense the word nigger isn't solely based on race either. There are numerous elements that go into making the word including elements of class. The connotationsthat comes along with using the word in a derogatory sense encompass multiple elements inclouding those of class just the same as the word Redneck.

Ryj, you also said:

'"Rednecks" is primarily a term used to describe poor white people. Although it can apply to any race, the root of the term is basically: "the ones who work outside".'

How is the root of the word redneck, "those who work outside?" Are you trying to say that the word reflects the creation of the "other" within society by those in power or the majority? If so it isnt necessarily "those who work outside" but instead it would be those who dont fit into the established norm (whatever that might be) and in this sense the word redneck or any other potentially racist term would reflect attempts at assimiliation by society or instead attempts at identifying and establishing distance to those who dont fit.

I dunno, maybe the gun carrier had his sister gang raped by the skateboarders. There's like, no context for me to root for one party or the other.

Very unlikely.. The two hostile youths seemed to be just going along, down the street, when they noticed the skaters. Maybe one of the skaters said something, who knows.. but what followed was certainly unwarranted. I highly doubt they knew each other before this.

I agree - anything could have happened there to make this happen. Kind of hard for me to root with one side.

cherokeebreed4 - that better be sarcasm. If so, you are not doing it right. If not, get your head checked.
