FEC case exposes paid actor Trump supporters

newtboy says...

Since it won't load, I can't say, but they seem to admit it's just a single person's claim in the title, so that's NOT fake news, just news of a false claim.

EDIT: You stinking dirty lying bastard...I tried it again, and it tried to install a virus. Good thing I have Norton that caught and blocked it. ABC news is not hosted on a .co site, so it's not right from ABC news. Don't post links to virus infected sites, and claim they are well known American news sites.

Reporting that someone made a claim, even a false one, is not fake news....claiming the false claim is true (pizzagate) is fake news.

If there are others, why don't you show them? How about others that aren't just virus hosting sites...not that I'll trust ANY link you post now...you lied.

The link works fine for me. Right from ABC news.

Or since you are calling it BS we can conclude that ABC is FAKE NEWS .

There are others like it.

Overpopulation - The Human Explosion Explained

A-Winston says...

Ah. And climate change and pollution have nothing to do with population growth. And property values will always go up. Idiots. This was so obviously funded by individuals with more money than God who have no understanding of the impact of a species overpopulation on a fixed environment. As long as Billie Gates can buy his way to live far, far away from the starving, stinking masses, he will continue to spew out this nonsense. Don't buy into it.

The problem in a nutshell, imo.....

The full quote would have been better;
"Remakes, to god-damned hell with remakes! We have no remakes. In fact, we don't need remakes. I don't have to show you any stinking remakes, you god-damned cabrón and chinga tu madre!"

And I think that's a big problem with remakes, in the remake they will simply say "badges?... we don't need no stinking badges" because that's how people misremember and simplify the excellent line, and all the flavor and fun will be lost in an effort to squeeze another dime out of a great piece of art by bastardizing it towards the lcd.

It sure beats the alternative, which is sharing a windowless IT tech room with someone who doesn't bathe every day but instead throws on another layer of some dime-store spray, powder or gel. So it's like working in a Greyhound bus restroom with the industrial-strength masking agent covering the organic human stink.

Call it what you will. To me, massive illegal immigration with the goal of territorial control is invasion...no matter why they invaded. Invaders always have a reason.
Hence my making the distinction between Arab and Jewish controlled Palestine. Officially the British were still ruling over Palestine, but in most practical ways, Palestine was already divided before the mass immigration started. There was essentially Jewish Palestine and Arab Palestine, and the normal conflicts between close neighbours with different religion were already significant before the illegal immigration. Of all the places for Jewish Europeans to flee to, the land already in the possession and control of welcoming Jewish Palestinians hardly stinks of invasion to me.

Sorry, I know I tried to refocus on what they should have done and immediately leapt off the rails myself.

You said:
should have fought the Nazis, not the mostly blameless (for the atrocities) Palestinians
A majority of them that made it into Britain and America did just that. In fact, so many fought against the Nazis that when the civil war in Palestine came to a head and WW2 veteran Jewish soldiers started showing up it's counted part of the Arab narrative as 'western' support and part of the unfair military advantage that made Israel the mighty power and the Arab league army the underdogs.

You said:
The U.S. was open...if they could get here.
No, nothing was open. As pictures of the camps spread, doors started opening but that was very much after the fact. Leading up to and during WW2 immigration numbers were very restricted to jewish people. There simply was absolutely no legal immigration option for thousands and thousands of Jewish Europeans.

You said:
neighbors and allies try to secure their borders that are being crossed by invaders
You misunderstand my statement on the Arab League member's intentions. They had NO intention of defending their neighbouring Arab Palestinian's land. Sure, publicly they declared a joint effort to liberate Palestine. Each member nation though was stating that as code for liberate a portion of Palestine by making it a part of themselves. Israel was able to take the best equipped and trained Jordanian army out of the battle without a single shot fired by agreeing with them to simply abandon the portion of Palestine that Jordan proceeded to make a part of itself. The other Arab states made similar bids militarily, refusing to co-ordinate their assaults because each wanted to declare the ground gained their own. As they each rushed their offensives and attacked individually Israel had the time to plant 100% of their forces in the path of each of them.

You asked:
Should I think you call Turkey an invader of Daesh, and you a supporter of Daesh?
In the sense that you are asking, it's a near yes. The original Syrian resistance is a group I really do support, and the Kurdish fighters have largely been on their same side and I support their efforts there as well. Daesh was much more interested in killing the 'legitimate' resistance than Assad and Putin's forces. Similarly, the Russians have made it a firm practice to exclusively attack the 'legitimate' resistance and doing their best to largely not bother attacking Daesh unless forced to. The main reason being that once Daesh is all that's left, the scorched earth fix becomes all the more easily justified, and the actual rebels pose a much more real and legitimate alternative to Assad's government than Daesh.

Kid Gets Custom Trump Shirt Made Gets Special Message

newtboy says...

In normal circumstances, I would agree. These were/are not normal circumstances.
He sought out a store that would be the most hostile to his request intentionally with the hope that they would do something like this, no question about that.
In a more perfect world, I would mostly agree (except it literally IS their business). This is far from a perfect world.

It's a trap, because most liberals are against allowing businesses to deny service to those they dislike for religious/political reasons, even though they would really like to mimic them. That means that denying him service plays into their hands even more than making a snide subliminal addition to the interior of the shirt. This is the catch 22 they have put themselves in, where there's no good option.
I think they should be allowed to refuse service to anyone for any reason....but those they refuse are allowed to make a public stink about it and 'boycott' (like this guy would have had they refused to make a shirt).

Lukio said:

For me it's quite the contrary, I would prefer that a company where I order custom printed t-shirts does not decide to chime in with their own political commentary not matter if it says "Trump Lover" or "I hate trees".

It is none of their business to give their snide commentary in this manner, they can deny the order and that is fine, then I'll go somewhere else.

Inb4 someone thinks I'm a Trump or Hillary supporter - I can't even vote in your country so I don't really care about them.

Bill Maher: Who Needs Guns?

newtboy says...

True, but the NRA is well known for not letting a single piece of anti-gun ownership legislation pass without making a HUGE stink about it. NEVER. This would be such a HUGE law, allowing tens of millions to have their weapons taken, it seems nearly impossible that they haven't been heard loudly and incessantly if it's not limited in scope to those so mentally challenged that they can't make an enforceable contract.

Of course, training wouldn't stop 100% of accidents, but it would stop 100% of accidents caused by lack of proper knowledge, and make the remaining 'accidents' much more prosecutable.

I was trained at age 8 at camp in an NRA shooting class. I can't believe people can own a gun without taking that basic safety measure, but they have to pass written and driving tests to have a car. WTF, government?

Heh, there's so much stuff on the left and right that I never hear a peep about in mainstream media. I'm unfortunate enough to have gotten my email into mailing lists on both sides, and I have to delete mountains of bitching political emails every day (and half of it is begging for donations while demonizing the other side).

Like I said, I have nothing against training.
But with 100 million people having access to arms, even if well trained, I would not count on zero accidents. Just being pedantic. I do agree with you in general.

Ken Burns slams Trump in Stanford Commencement

bareboards2 says...

Okay. You're right. He can be a politician. He is a politician. A stinking poor one, but since he is running for public office, he is by definition a "politician."

Doesn't change the fact he is unqualified to be President. He knows nothing. He promotes fear-mongering and encourages violence. He says he will do things as president that are clearly unconstitutional and outside his powers (banning Muslims, changing the libel laws so he can gain financially.) He is thin-skinned.

He has just revoked the press credentials of The Washington Post because he didn't like a front page story. The man doesn't understand the three branches of government plus the fourth estate of a free press.

I'm qualified to disqualify him because I am a thinking American who knows some history. Like Ken Burns. Like Mitt Romney.

Trump is a unifier, all right. For the first time in almost eight years, some Republicans are putting their love of country above partisanship. I've never been more proud of everyone who has the courage to tell the truth about Donald Trump.

He is patently unfit to serve our country. He has never done it before. He isn't interested in doing it now.
