I will add that the night of the Springsteen concert (at Mississippi State in Starkville) was the only 3 hours of my life I ever spent in jail. That's all I'm sayin.

I dunno, dw, it seemed ground-breaking at the time, but those were my college years and I don't remember much.

Deano, yeah, can you tell I was a huge fan, too? 1975's Born to Run was probably his best work, even almost posted Thunder Road but loved the crowd singing along in The River video I posted. The whole concert was like that when I saw him in '81 (he hadn't quite prostelitized himself yet)... it was an incredible show.

Up to about 10 years ago I used to be obsessed with Springsteen. For every few overly bombastic anthems he would come out with stuff like I'm on Fire, which is superb. I wish I'd caught him in the 70s, though realistically I was a bit too young at the time. 70s Springsteen was probably where he produced his best stuff.
