Super Mario Bros Speed Run- 4:59!

Fake. There rare several situations where he should have been killed by the pipe plant. Definitely using Game Genie.

Hate to break it to you Doogle, but you can actually get away with it. By jumping over the plant in such a way that the runner does it, you can actually avoid getting hit by the pipe plant. Just look at all the other speed runs for SMB, and you will see how alot of people have been able to make the same jump without actually cheating.

Record Set for LOWEST Super Mario Bros Score

steroidg says...

The title "Record Set for LOWEST Super Mario Bros Score" is a bit misleading though. It should say: "The lowest SMB finishing score" or something like that. The lowest score of that game is 0 unless you can somehow gain negative points, which was what I was expecting to see after reading the title.

Regarding VNC, I agree with @spoco2 that Ultra is the way to go, though nearly all flavors of VNC support the java applet (including TightVNC). You can also use any VNC client to access your server, including the one that comes with OS X, though it might not support special "Tight" features.

Assuming your server is running Windows, though, you're almost certainly better off using the built-in remote desktop. You can use CoRD or one of the other numerous clients from a Mac.

If you're looking to do things along the lines of @rebuilder's post, I might recommend FreeNAS, which I have been running without incident for roughly a year now. It's managed entirely via web interface. It supports SMB/CIFS (Windows File Sharing), AFP (Apple Filing Protocol), BitTorrent, media streaming to X360/PS3/iTunes/etc, and more. It does SMART monitoring on your hard drive(s) and can even email you if there are problems.

Piranha Plant Model

Funny that they chose the SMB2 theme music for this video. I think that was the only SMB game, at least of the classics, that didn't have piranha plants.

indeed, it was the only "Super Mario Bros." game with no Piranha Plants.

Crapsticks. my15minutes and I re-played D2 not too long ago.. wish I'd known about this!

There are a bunch of games I re-visit. Dozens in MAME alone, but others like Phantasy Star, Final Fantasy, SMB, Zelda, Metroid. Is anyone else on the sift a speedrun voyuer? I mean I don't do speedruns myself but I love watching them (tool-assisted or not -- both types are interesting).

♥ I LOVE VIDEOGAMES! ♥

This doesn't help with the initial question, but I'm a big fan of m0n0wall (http://m0n0.ch), been using it for years. Doesn't have any sort of scheduling mechanism as far as I know, though you might be able to fudge one with the captive portal feature. Maybe its big brother, pfSense, can do it.

But really these are the types of things you find in home routers and m0n0/pfS are meant for SMB. Seems like it ought to be trivial to find a new router that does everything you need. Here, browse a few of these: http://www.consumersearch.com/wireless-routers

Ha, no worries.

Yes, the maximum is the number of points that get refilled after two days, but there is no limit to how many you can actually possess (i.e., from buying or earning points).

Oooh lol I totally got lost.

If my maximum is 1, it means there is a way to earn temporary points that go above maximum?

In reply to this comment by lucky760:
Hmm...

So, how many points did your profile show before you successfully self-promoted?

It requires 2 and your profile currently shows 1, and your normal maximum is 1. This means you probably earned 2 extra points from siftbot (see his comments below) and those are what got used for the self-promote. And now that you only have 1 PP, you can't do it again.

In reply to this comment by looris:
a little bug: i have made a self promote here and it worked.
but in my user page it still says i never used any power point.
still, it correctly doesn't allow me to promote again.

joedirt, you are obviously gay. Maybe not a contest winner but I certainly wouldn't kick her out of bed for getting crumbs all over.

As for SMB 1-1, you can tell she dosn't have a whole lot of timing down. She uses the pipes and such to "reset" her position in her mind. once shes jumped the number of times needed to get to the open gaps, then skill plays in on the timing of the jumps. It would have been more impressive if she didnt run into things on the ground and picked up all the coins and powerups.
