Today lets just crush some stuff with a Steam Roller :)

A steam roller crushing stuff. Who would have thunk?

National Geographic gone the way of Discovery and or the History channel. Playing to the lowest common denominator it seems

Ho.Ly.Shit.

Not even in ultra-slo-mo. Are they even trying? This probably took 15 minutes in the back lot to produce, and the whole thing is a viral for the manufacturer of that stupid roller, too. Fuck National Geographic, this is pathetic.

Two identical cards show up in high stakes poker game

AeroMechanical says...

This is obviously pansy high roller poker. As soon as the hand was revealed, chains and knives and pistols should have been produced by all the players. At the very least, the dealer should have a sawed off shotgun duct taped under the table.

Nobody knows how to make good TV anymore.

Truck Attempts A Ship Boarding On Sketchy Planks

radx says...

I suspect one of four ways:

a) unloaded onto the pier in a similar manner,
b) jacked up and placed on rollers,
c) 107 point turn, Austin Powers style
d) or plain old elbow grease.

How did they get the truck lined up in it's initial position on such a narrow pier?

Eoin's Slippery Slide

eric3579 says...

I had read, a day or two ago, when this was first posted (presumably by the father) that the kid was perfectly fine and ran off to the swings after this.

Ever ride roller coasters in the rain. Faster. Same with most slides.

Theme Park, The Void, Blends Virtual and Physical Worlds

No roller rinks? There are a good 2 if no 3 or so within a 30 minute drive, and I live far out in the country where I can't even get pizza delivery because we're too far from anything. This is basically Laser Tag with VR goggles and was bound to happen sooner or later given how well Oculus and other VR outfits are working, or at least appear to be working. I'd guess the props are all lightweight foam to prevent injury. The motion tracking is the question, and I got to doubt it works as well as shown. We are still far from say the VR of Ready Player One or more advanced stuff yet though...

BB-8 droid from The Force Awakens Rolls out on stage

rex84 says...

I agree that the inside of the ball probably resembles a weighted arm with servo-driven rollers that can move the ball around on one end (likely the bottom) and an articulated arm on the other that has magnets that keep the head from falling off and can move it around on the ball. The head itself could be largely passive, with no ability to "move" itself.

New Record Breaking Roller Coaster In Charlotte NC

bobr3940 says...

Roller coaster design seems to be stuck in a loop of designing extremes (height, speed, loops, etc). While those are fun you usually end up in the position that enoch mentions, a 3 hour wait for a 1- 2 minute ride. I would much rather have a roller coaster ride with less extremes but a longer duration. A coaster ride that lasted 3-5 minutes would be much more enticing to me than this continued push for short duration extremes.

So, China has a way to go before they have a real OSHA

SFOGuy says...

Looks to me like rolling out steel ingots into steel bars, flatter and flatter, with heat and rollers---old school style.

Think: like just beyond Game of Thrones technology and the way it's been done for a long, long time.

How To Sell A House? With A Rollercoaster

Too Many Cooks

VoodooV says...

I'll admit it was a bit of a roller coaster for me. the first couple minutes and they were beating the Full House horse, I started to get bored, but then they started switching to other shows and that drew me back in again. Then they kinda over did it with the serial killer guy and I started to lose interest again, then they got to the sci fi meme and I started smirking again.

certainly reminds me of this: *related=http://videosift.com/video/Rejected-Family-Learning-Channel-Commercials
