How can anyone be taken seriously with such a goofy accent? Admittedly, I've got a prejudicial problem with that but...come on! It's just plain silly.

I'll forgive you because I grew up a yankee, and I know how hard it can be to overcome that prejudice. For example, when I was in college, we had an engineering professor who, in addition to being a former NASA employee, had also worked on the Apollo missions. He also had one of the thickest Texan accents I've ever heard. It was very odd to hear "you can solve these differential equations using a simple LaPlace transform," in that voice. Eventually (actually, rather quickly) I got over it and heard the words more than the voice.

I've been in the south for quite a few years now, long enough that when I go back up north I wonder "what's wrong with these people!?!"

Vancouver Olympic Sea to Sky Highway closed by rockslide

Krupo says...

This narrow highway's vulnerability was one of the factors that the IOC was seriously questioning during the bid process.

Still, compared to the crazy Beijing smog, a wee little rockslide doesn't seem as bad... though isolating the two venues (the alternate route is like a 6 to 8 hour drive in a big detour/loop along a poorly maintained road) would definitely but a hamper on things.

Fingers crossed everything holds steady for 2010.

Jump in, the waters great!

cobalt says...

Well maybe there is evidence that there was once a cave. Maybe it is very strong evidence. Maybe it is still there in some form but the water levels changed or the was a rockslide that cut it off. You make as much(if not more) conjecture in your assumptions about what scientist do or do not know than you have any right to make while complaining about it.

Seems you may be confusing the whole "theory" issue.
