I've worked in a concert hall for almost eight years, and the metal heads are some of the most peaceful, level-headed concert goers ever. The worst crowds are for reggae, rap and hiphop. Punks are on the fence.

Yeah, I'm not really surprised it wasn't to your taste, it's quite similar to another one you didn't like (but, at least took the time to comment on, and thank you )

I have posted one or two things which, although I'm not sure you will like, I'm not sure you would hate.

This one is a C64 demo (predecessor of the Amiga):
http://videosift.com/video/BOOZE-DESIGN-2008-EDGE-OF-DISGRACE-C64 (although actually I liked this other one more, posted by Croccydile - http://videosift.com/video/Commodore-64-Demo-Deus-Ex-Machina )

Finally, this one at least sounds different, since it has Reggae style steel drum - http://videosift.com/video/Mattafix-Angel

If I may recommend some, as some artists are better shows-men than others. Freddie McGregor, Half Pint, and Barrington Levy. Barrington Levy is full of pep for an old fart. He really knows how to amp you up. Also, any chance to see the Specials, you should take.

Agreed - his voice & cadence were among my favourite from that era of reggae.
I've only had the pleasure of seeing Toots & the Maytals, The Abyssinians and Lee Perry live - as more and more of them drop off the planet, I realize I need to get out & hear them in person before its too late.

In reply to this comment by rottenseed:
I'm sad I've never seen him live. I've seen many reggae legends perform but never him.

Saw this in the news yesterday. Very sad indeed

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit (Reggae Version)

Yeah it was manipulated. Apparently the guy with the youtube account where this vid came from specializes in that. I think he plays all the instruments individually in his studio then syncs then with a video. >> ^MilkmanDan:

I liked it. But wasn't the vocal track sampled straight off of the album version and then digitally time compressed to match the altered tempo? It had that slightly shrill sound that comes from time compression plus digital compensation for pitch.
So I guess I'm curious about how it was created.
