Zero Punctuation - The E3 Trailer Park
>> ^Farhad2000:

It's so true. Every game coming out is now a sequel. This is the PC line up for 2008.
Fallout 3
Red Alert 3
Mafia 2
Gears of War 2
Starcraft 2
Stalker 2
Mercenaries 2
GTA 4 (PC)
Warhammer Dan of War 2
Diablo 3
Brothers in Arms 2
Far Cry 2
FEAR 2 (Aka Project Origin)
Sacred 2
Jagged Alliance 3
MotoGP 08
Saints Row 2
Street Fighter IV
Postal 3
I don't think Spore counts as its really on the thin line. It could be just a Sims with biology thrown in. Niether does Left 4 Dead, its just a very popular HL Coop mod set in Zombieville.
Bollocks to them all!!
I want Dan Of War 2!!

Top 10 FPS
I'm glad others are mentioning Tribes, a true innovator and a game which brought many of the conventions that are staples of the FPS genre today. I forgot to include that as I was mainly thinking about the single-player experience. If we're talking MP, Tribes all the way. I really wish more games these days would have the SP experience open to coop play too. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Halo I have to commend the series for that. Doom 2 coop (on Hardcore or Nightmare) back in the day was one of my favorites, along with dial-up games of C&C/Red Alert against teams of bots with my friend.
That's another thing, you'd have to even further segment the lists into singleplayer and multiplayer so we don't end up comparing apples to oranges. I think it's great how these games have evolved in different directions and how there's a lot of room for contention and something for everyone of a certain taste. Here's hoping we see or create some revolutionary things in the near future.

Upvote for the puns! Oh, and for the fact that I keep thinking of Command and Conquer: Red Alert when I see this.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Hell March Trailer
I am disappointed, the hell march in that trailer is one from Red alert 2, where any Westwood fan knows, the original one is the best.
Also I predict that the game will be stunningly mediocre, and not break any serious new ground with the established RTS formula, but the hammy acting and cheesy FMV scenes will return, due to fact that there are more noughts in EA than there is tea in china, but none the less the FMVs will cherished.
GameTrailers Top 10 Years of Gaming
i liked 1996... Duke Nukem 3D.. C&C: Red Alert.. and.... Quake...
might not be many others, but all 3 are among my top 3 played games in the 90s..
But most importantly.. Voodoo Graphics came and showed us (well, me atleast) the light..
when i first saw glQuake (1997), after playing software mode in 400x300, it was a religious experience.. well.. as I imagine a religious experience to be..

^ 4. Einstein goes back in time, kills Hitler, thus allowing Stalin to ... ahh fuck.
that horse is skeletal, j. done beating it?
Actually if someone assassinated Hitler the axis powers might have fared better. Hitler's incompetence led to the defeat at Stalingrad.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert intro movie

What is your favorite genre of game to play? (Videogames Talk Post)
WoW
The instant I flew through a building, that game went on the pile of rejects. (Even payed for it too, damn you starforce, you made may pay for a crappy game!)
C&C series (Kane's Wrath is way cool, but the original Red Alert is probably my favorite of them all)
Starcraft
Dungeon Keeper (Make a third one EA!)
Peggle (It's so damn addictive)
Freelancer
Max Payne 2; (and the first one too)
Transport Tycoon is fantastic
UFO: Alien Unknown (or X-Com)
Heroes of Might & Magic 3
kulpims: I tried X3 as a replacement for Freelancer, but I thought it was pure shit.
Starcraft II Zerg Intro Trailer
The game's gonna spark a few weeks of euforia amongst the gaming community, followed by an overpowering sense of disillusion when the fact that it's not as good as its predecessor sinks in into the minds of even the most diehard SC-religious fanboys. This'll cause more flamewars and resentment in the gaming community than anything else this decade.
This is no more the end station of the RTS train than Red Alert 2 in its day. The graphics are good though

>> ^MarineGunrock:
So it's basically Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2, but only with Nazis?
It's a FPS, so no, not really.
Alternative History Videogame: Turning Point
It reminds me of Red Alert 2 game and two Star Trek: Enterprise episodes.
