Quentin Tarantino: 'I'm shutting your butt down!'

Quentin Tarantino: 'I'm shutting your butt down!'

I love Quentin's attitude. In fact I envy his ability to just not care what other people think when in this kind of scenario. He is a leader, he doesn't back down and he stands up for not only what he believes in but for his own thoughts and opinions.

Piers Morgan: "You are an incredibly stupid man"

Even if arming more people is the answer, and I think it's a ridiculous notion, how the hell are you going to get people who don't want to carry guns to carry guns? This whole "if everyone was armed" bullshit assumes most people would be willing to carry. The gun nuts in this country live in this imaginary world where they walk around protecting everybody like superheroes or something. I watch a lot of knife reviews and other knife videos on YT, and so many are done by gun nuts who feel a need to place their guns strategically or even blatantly within the shot while they talk about a knife. What is it with these idiots that they NEED to flash you their guns whenever possible? Are they just chest-thumping? Why do guns turn people into instant bad-asses? Is it an image sold by gun manufacturers, or TV, or rappers, or Quentin Tarantino? It just seems so mentally ill to me.

Man With the Iron Fists- Quentin Tarantino- Red Band Trailer

Tarantino keeps getting better. More and more his own style. I guess you liked him better when his films weren't as much his own style and more generic?

Looks like another crap movie from the bowels of Quentin Tarantino. Sorry but he's gotta lay off from the movie business for a while (like, 10-20 years). The movie looks like crap, with or without his name plastered on it.

I disagree. QT knows exactly what he is doing. Some of his films are dialog driven (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown) and some are genre and/or action driven films (True Romance, Kill Bill, Inglorious Basterds). I have no doubt he is capable of writing another Pulp, and that one day he probably will, but for now he is doing high-art pastiche of the classic exploitation dramas he grew up with. This is not to say that these action films are less good than his dialog films, they just have different aesthetic criteria.
He is much like Speilberg in this way, if polar opposites in dialog and style. Speilberg has his serious movies, and he has his homages to the serial action films of his youth.
Prediction: Eventually Quentin will eventually get his fill of action films and create another magnum opus, and likely get himself an Oscar in the process. I would absolutely love for him to take his favorite film of recent times, Battle Royale, and make an American-culture-specific version - not a remake of the film, but a remake of the concept as it would occur if it played out with American high schoolers.
Also, comparing QT to Shayamalan is blasphemy. Even Shayamalan's best work was an average film with a great twist. Shayamalan has never shown even an ounce of the writing or directing skills that QT has. Take it back. TAKE IT BACK!!1!>> ^lucky760:
Win.
I no longer have any confidence Quentin will make another Reservoir Dogs- or Pulp Fiction-caliber film, and I've made my peace with that, but I will still eagerly await every one of his new projects with fervent anticipation.
(I just hope he never descends as far down as M. Night Shyamalan.)

I think even he knows he's lost something. Politely disagree, sir. *tip hat*

Completely agree. If Quentin ever gets around to doing a horror homage, I will have died and gone to heaven. >> ^kymbos:

I'm here to say I think he will surpass those films at some point. Once he's done making homage films, he'll at some point return to awesome storytelling, IMO.
