Season 3 just premiered last Thursday!

I'm a month into a new job in support, in the Unix and database group, at one of the premier enterprise backup providers in the world.

The company is really cool, and the people are really nice, but the job is difficult and soul-destroying. It's a 6mo contract-to-hire, so I'm sticking it out for now and I'll see what I want to do come fall.

for the 1st time in many moons, i am gonna watch tv tonight to see this premiere.

I don't see the difference between Man Utd and Man City except color. One has money...the other just got money. I support teams like Swansea and I think players shouldn't be able to make over $1 million a year because what they do Doesn't Fucking Matter.
If they make anything over $1 Million a year it should go directly into the education system where kids are going "I don't need maths and shit, I'll just be like Wayne Rooney."

And your saying what they do doesn't matter? Well, it matters a lot to them and to those who follow football like a religion. Who has the right to say what should matter in a persons life anyway? Right or wrong, money talks, and that is reflected in the price paid for rare talent whether it be in sport/art/houses/ etc. If a kid wants to be Rooney then fine. All he has to do is be as talented as him, but get an education as well incase he's not. Sadly, the type of kid you site is not very bright, and is more likely to be influenced by Xfactor rubbish, peers, and ignorant parents rather than teachers trying to educate. Probably the type of kid (like many adults) who are in shitty, if any, jobs and resent their lot in life.

I was invited to attend the premier of this film several weeks ago. While none of the actors were in attendance, I did get to meet the VP of HBO Programming..

Good film, btw... a little heavy-handed at times, but entertaining nonetheless.

The idiotic behavior that provides grist for the media mill is a symptom of lack of wisdom and maturity, not stupidity.

I don't know much about Premier Leaguers, but pro American football players are more intelligent on average. A better way to describe it is that their distribution of IQs is much narrower and shifted upwards a bit from the overall population's distribution. American football requires being able to process a lot of information and modifying complex plans all very quickly. It's not a game for idiots.

As for the pay, well they're entertainers. Any entertainer good enough in their field will be paid millions simply because there will be so many people that want to watch that entertainment. Actors, athletes, musicians, writers, artists can all become obscenely rich if they are good enough and marketed well. And as messenger points out, most pro athletes work harder than most people ever will to achieve a level of performance that only a handful of people on the planet can even dream of.
