4K 60fps Photo Realism With Unreal 4 Engine
considering what it takes to render actually photoreal CG at 4K, doing it in real time at 60 fps is at least 10+ years away. and that's extremely generous. this stuff looks awesome... for realtime renders in a video game. they're way the fuck off from photoreal.

LMFAHS. Sorcery... Ghost takedown... Butt-back move... that's good stuff.
I'm surprised. I wasn't aware such photorealism was in use. I honestly thought it was video from an actual fight when it first started.
Source Pictures For Max Payne 2 Cutscene Art
@demon_ix: 2 turned me off at first, felt like a lame rehash. But it steadily grew on me until it exceeded the first in my opinion. And I'm a huge fan of the first. In my experience it was a truly next-generation experience, as far as photorealism and atmosphere in games. The funhouse scene in MP2 is a classic for sure.
your advice on travel @ prague & berlin (Blog Entry by paul4dirt)
re:blankfist - haven't got a driving license maybe i could try the same on a rented bicycle and film it.
re: rougy - will blog. cheap = great to hear, the trip and accommodations are expensive enough for me (although relatively very cheap, less than 110 euro in total for a flight to prague and then back from berlin). @weed. i live in holland (and work in a concertvenue with so many potheads around i can get stoned from passive smoking)
re:farhead2000 - great idea! thus far i only found some crappy house-djs performing in the time i'm in berlin but i'll see what i can find, can't go to berlin and not visit a club or two.
re:breakstheeart - thanks! that looks spectacular, ill see if i can get there by public transport.
re:maatc - interested in (apart from the obvious tourist attractions which i wont totally avoid) concert venues (rock, electronic, jazz), record stores (and which parts of the city i can find those maybe), contemporary art, photography (already found the Helmut Newton Stiftung and an exhibition on photorealism in the guggenheim, but im sure theres more), parts of the city to travel to and just wander around quietly, the best place to eat french fries, and @siftup, sounds great

Couldn't be more agree with that. Photorealism isn't the only way. Just look at games like Okami.
Photorealistic pencil drawing of a watch: A time-lapse video
Actually, it's called photorealism because it mimics reality like a photo, and it can be done in real life, however, in this case, he's likely to be using a photo. Nevertheless, it's quite good and his finished composition is probably much more interesting than the photo he got the imagery from. There's more thought involved in it than just copying.
Besides, being able to accurately represent something is an important stepping stone to finding ones style. Even Picasso actually knew how to draw and had his realist period.
Photorealistic pencil drawing of a watch: A time-lapse video
never seen photorealism in pencil? wow. what school did you go to?
anyway it's called photorealism because he just copied a photo.
i don't call a photocopier talented, so i am afraid, i don't think this guy is very exciting either. there's millions of art students that can do this, and millions of crappy websites who will do this if you send them a photo of your dog.
it's a skill, but it's not creative.
