Best live act I've ever seen is Peter Gabriel. Believe me, I have literally seen them ALL. Current rumour du jour is that Gabriel is back in the studio with the original line-up of Genesis. That would be worth seeing- a monumental reunion that would put the friggin' Eagles (shudder) to shame.

ABC news report on synesthesia
My understanding is that Peter Gabriel has synethesia. It would figure listening to his music and lyrics.
amazing music video - stopmotion animation of every WORD
I wish that we could get view counts for that exact reason.
This is so good. Reminds me of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer or Big Time.
Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight
Absolutely! A type and archetype of Collins' work. Plus the big drum sound developed with Peter Gabriel and Hugh Padgham as they ran it through a noise gate changed the way much of our music sounded in the 80's and beyond. This song, and Gabriel's "Intruder" were the gestation of an amazing sound. Here's the interview:

Happy Rhodes covering Peter Gabriel's "Here Comes The Flood"
We filmed this video at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia, PA on May 9, 1996 (2nd show of the night, and she did 2 more shows the next night). Kevin Bartlett on electric guitar and Carl Adami on bass are hidden there in the background. We traveled from Chicago to see this show (and many many other shows). The trip was always worth the effort.
These Happy videos aren't the best technically, but Happy has never toured and her shows are rare and special (to me anyway). This group of 4 shows in 2 nights was like manna from heaven for fans. I'd seen her live twice before this group of shows, 4 years earlier. I've seen her live a total of 24 times, all but 2 of those times traveling halfway across the country to do it (never knowing if each show might be her last). It may or may not come across in the video, but there's something amazing and precious to be in the same room as That Voice live. Then again, I'm a besotted fan, so there you go. That's me she's bowing to at the end (*swoon*) because she knew I was a huge Peter Gabriel fan.

Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush - Don't Give Up
This video was directed by Godley and Creme. The video they did just before this one was Wang Chung's "Everybody Have Fun Tonight". In that video, they took editing as far as it could go, with an edit on every single frame. So, with this video, they decided to go in the complete opposite direction and they have no edits.
Peter Gabriel once hosted eMpTyVee's "120 Minutes" and played this video. After he said of the experience "Sometimes one has to suffer for one's art" (with a grin).
Network - you people are zombies
I partly agree with angelsvn. Partly. There is that weird news stuff, and also that background music is NOT in the original version. (It's Peter Gabriel's soundtrack for the Last Temptation of Christ)
I have been working on attaining a better copy, and I hope James or dag will indulge me in replacing this current unclean copy with a more pristine clip. My purpose in posting was only about the original content, not these other confounding layers.
Golly gee, angelsvn. While I did not create this clip, as a liberal, I hope you will let me know if my liberal stupidity leads to unendurable hypocrisy. Glad to be in the company of someone who can see things so much more clearly.
Sorry if this comes off as harsh, but I contend the comments about Fox News is valid. Among the newscasts, Fox news specifically stands out for its truthiness. The clip must have been from something else, I agree. I just bristle when I read an attempt to dismiss the point about Fox as "stupid liberal propaganda" -- when Fox was only a tangential point to the original posting. And seeing you speculate this unknown source is "propaganda" while you defend Fox News as being equal in sin to the other news sources... it just triggered a bit of verbal nausea.
I agree skepticism is required when getting one's news. I do not agree all sources are equal.
