Nerd of the Week : Episode 1 Penny Arcade Expo
*comedy (I thought the into/outro graphics were great!)
Horatio Caine's Seemingly Endless Opening-Sequence Zingers
So good. More existential than Camus. Caruso hits his mark in such a disspirited way. Sunglasses off . . .intro . . .sunglasses on . . .outro.
No wonder he attempted to flee TV a long time ago. . .
Trapped monkey escapes the jaws of a crocodile
good but WTF with intro and outro?
IBM: Powers Of Ten (amazing 9 minute science video)
A fantastic short film by Charles and Ray Eames for IBM: 'dealing with the relative size of things in the universe, and the effect of adding another zero'. This was originally posted by Mlx, but was discarded after pulled from YouTube (I emailed the Sift to check if I could post this, but got no reply). Check out: The Official Powers of Ten website - in delayed celebration of Powers Of Ten day (10/10)...
A bit more information: "Powers of Ten explores the relative size of things from the microscopic to the cosmic. The 1977 film travels from an aerial view of a man in a Chicago park to the outer limits of the universe directly above him and back down into the microscopic world contained in the man's hand. Powers of Ten illustrates the universe as an arena of both continuity and change, of everyday picnics and cosmic mystery. The film also demonstrates the Eameses' ability to make science both fascinating and accessible."

Men In Black: Powers Of Ten Outro
The Men In Black imitate IBM's Powers Of Ten film (as an outro) - with a tasty sci-fi twist at the end!
