Personal Queue Amnesty Day(s) (Sift Talk Post)
I see your point kp, but here is how I see it:
A lot of clips in my 87 clip strong pqueue have only a few votes.
I am not overly possessive of these, I just like to know they are already a part of VS. Most of those clips make a great addition to my downunder channel or the one hit wonder playlist I made, and discarding them would hurt those parts of the sift in my eyes.
Also I don´t expect anyone to go through my list, but if someone by chance decides to post one of those clips again, it would (hopefully) show as a dupe and instead of having to start over again from 0 votes it would slowly make it`s way out over time. And even if they don´t, thats fine. There are some great videos on this site that never made it out of the queue, and probably never will.
That being said, I will now go to my pqueue to find some truly terrible ones to clean out!

You think my pqueue is long? Check out ants then!
I think the amount of clips in my personal queue just come from the fact that I often post videos that fit well into my one hit wonder list for example.
They are not too popular, but I post them anyway to get them out of my head and complete the list as good as possible.
Also sometimes the clips I post are "special interest", like a clip from a classic Aussie movie or stuff like that. Not too many upvotes on those either.
I´d love to point you in a direction, but even I don´t know where to begin sometimes. Maybe the ones that are just below queue escape level are a good start?
Oh, just noticed you have a few lined up as well... Will look through it and see if I find something I like!
Cheers,
maatc

True, I added it to that channel. Thanks for pointing it out.

Shouldn't this be posted to the *Islamica channel?
Well, the channel is supposed to be dedicated to, i.a., celebrating the rich tapestry of Islamic culture, but lately it seemed to have filled it up with Pat Condell, Gitmo and suicide bombers, so I think your contribution is much appreciated.
Btw, you got the longest personal queue I've ever seen on the sift. I'd like to give you a few upvotes, but I don't know where to begin ;-).
The Association - Windy
Not fair to call them one-hit wonders. They had several hits at or near the top of the charts - "Along Comes Mary," "Never My Love," "Cherish," and others.
Incredible jumping cat gets 7 feet of vertical
Thanks for reminding me to update my one hit wonder list!
Deliverance - 'Dueling banjos' scene
Youtube poster's comment: "One of the more memorable scenes in the movie. Made a one-hit-wonder out of the cut. Also became the permanent soundtrack to anything related to backwoods Bubba culture (e.g., how can you not hear this in your head whenever you see the Springer Show, or go to Wal-Mart, or watch the infield at a NASCAR event...) ;-) "
Babylon Zoo - Spaceman
I remember the heavy rotation of this track:)

Everytime I hear the synth in the intro of this song I think of this one hit wonder..
Rare Un-Animated Version of "Take On Me"- A-Ha

I created the list a while back but finding songs for it became kind of slow after the initial few songs that immediately come to mind.
So I searched the web a bit and stumbled across a great list over at wikipedia that I stole a few ideas from

The really great thing about it is that I bet there's not much of these kinds of list on the net or anywhere. Best thing coming close is some VH1 top. So again, yeah, great job. If I notice a clip like this, I'll make a note of checking whether it's on the list.
Cheers!

Thanks mate!
I have to admit a few had more than one hit, but they certainly have that "one hit wonder" feel to them.
Enjoy watching and if you can think of any that aren´t in there yet let me know.
Cheers,
maatc

This is just an excellent idea for a playlist/compilation. I won't get into it now, but rest assured - someday I will probably sift right all the way through it. Amazing idea you had there and a great job!
John Farnham - You´re the voice
>> ^BoneyD:
I'm not sure well how he did around the world, but ol' Whispering Jack was anything but a one-hit-wonder in Australia. He was pretty big stuff for decades down here. He did concerts with big names like Tom Jones, and used to show up on TV a lot (I remember him on appearing on the variety show Hey Hey, it's Saturday a lot).
I wouldn't think there would be any household not guilty of owning one of his singles or albums
Interesting. In Germany he is only known for "You´re the voice".
I must admit there are a few "maybe it was two or three hits" videos in my list, but they all certainly have that feeling of "where did they go after that?" to them.
