Police Protecting and Serving the Shit Out of Skater!

maestro156 says...

In http://wtkr.com/2013/08/01/video-shows-virginia-state-police-car-hitting-skateboarder/ you can see a less-edited version of the video. The cop did not casually drive off after intentionally running the guy over. Rather he was making an illegal u-turn and wasn't paying attention. He got out to see if the skater was injured.

So not police brutality. At worst police reckless endangerment. More generously a stupid mistake.

(and I am certainly not someone who will excuse police aggression)

Code Pink protester Hit with Baton: BOOM HEADSHOT!

imstellar28 says...

why does everyone think everything has to be subjective? we have a video. it is evidence. there are laws. these things can be verified.

you can have an "opinion" that this is not police brutality, but your opinion is wrong. period.

anyone who argues that this isn't police brutality demonstrates they have no respect for the rule of law, common sense, and are quite possibly a closet fascist.

with respect to *insert name* who doesn't believe this is illegal--what if that was your mother getting wrecked in the face with a baton, instead of someone who believes in something you don't--would it be illegal then? your inability to separate reality from your own prejudice is disgusting.

i've never done crack, but i am guessing that if you are on crack and you are surrounded by armed police and all you have is a knife, well, "drop the knife" sounds a bit different, if you are listening at all, that is. also i wouldn't call ramming someone with a car twice "non lethal force". but it's not police brutality, unless you count the fact that the police sell drugs by proxy.
