You know, the thing that pisses me off the most about SOPA is that Republican chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Lamar Smith is always quick to point out that this bill mainly targets "foreign websites" as if somehow that makes it all OK.

This shows a real lack of understanding of the way the Internet works - and the increasing irrelevance of national borders. Hands up if you know where VideoSift's servers are.

I'll also correct myself: In my third point I falsely claim that Lehi was responsible for the King David hotel bombing, when in fact it was the Irgun that committed that act. Those guys weren't as extreme as Lehi, but not by much.

The relevant details about the actual progress of the war are here. He mentions the actual war in about 3 words afterwards.
- The 1967 war, or the Six Day War, started with an invasion of Israel by it's bordering nations. Mr. Rees states that Israel expanded it's borders as though it was on an Imperialist quest to grab more land.
- The quickly described war of 1973, or the Yom-Kippur War, was started AGAIN by an invasion from all sides. This time, they picked Yom-Kippur as their day of attack, and managed to catch most of our army by surprise on the one day where the vast majority of Jews rest and eat nothing. This war wasn't spinnable in an anti-Israeli way for Mr. Rees, so he glossed over it quickly and moved on.
- At around 14:00 Mr. Rees describes the American aid to Jordan and Egypt as "payment for not attacking Israel", and ignores the fact that Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979 and Jordan followed in 1994. Syria and Lebanon are still technically at war with Israel, and Iraq actively attacked Israel with Scud missiles during the first Gulf War.

The fact of the matter is, you seem to be trying to defend the video on the grounds that you're pissed off at these guys for allegedly celebrating the terrorist attack. Might I point out that there is NO EVIDENCE to support this? Watch the video again. But that's not even the point. The video is trying to use extremely flimsy evidence to support the assumption that Judaism is evil and that Israelis had something to do with the 9/11 attacks or were aware that it was going to occur. That's what is antisemitic about the video. It isn't even about the guilt of these 3 guys, really. The end especially reveals it as anti-semitic propoganda.

Let's break this video down. FIRST it's an interview with a lady who thought she saw some guys who "didn't look shocked to [her]" and she could see that "they were, like, happy." Alrighty. First of all, this was 9/11, right? She was probably a little shocked and upset and, yes, a little bit paranoid. Okay, now that we have that water tight evidence, let's move on to the next thing: Some guy walking around looking at the moving company where those guys worked and a narrator asking, "Was this building being used as a front for some kind of Israeli intelligence operation that, possibly, was doing surveillance on the Arab American community? Were there men celebrating or slapping fives or whatever?" HAHA! Wait, what?! Does this make any sense to you? What a jump! First of all, how are those two questions related? And where did the questions come from? The video offers NO support whatsoever. THEN there is a clip with a police officer (who, I assume, was one of the officers who detained these men? Again, no help from the video.) who says nothing of substance. All he says is that the 3 men told the cops that they were not against them, but with them. I don't know what the point of this clip is, unless the video is trying to undermine its own objective. Now the fun part: The interview with the actual 3 guys. All that man says is, "The fact of the matter is, we're coming from a country that experiences terror daily. Our purpose was to document the event." You took this statement and went CRAZY with it, Patriot! You claimed that the guys were admitting that they were enjoying the event because they liked seeing Americans getting a taste of terrorism. What he was PROBABLY saying, call me crazy, is that they were not as shocked as we were about the attacks because they are used to it. And I assume that they probably weren't as upset as we were because they're not American. And when he says that their "purpose" was documenting the event, you claimed that the word "purpose" somehow proves that there was a "pre-defined agenda." BAHahahahahaha! Your own silly assumptions about what he meant by "purpose" make no sense because he DIDN'T SAY IT. He wasn't even speaking English! He didn't say "purpose!" Many people had video cameras out that day with the "purpose" of documenting the event. Give me a break, man. Now for the silly author of "Nothing Sacred: The Truth About Judaism." He is saying nice, good things about Judaism. In essence, he is saying that Judaism is dangerous because it breaks down lies and the artificial contructions of men like false gods and national borders. Whoever made the video obviously didn't really understand what he was saying, or chose to try to put it in as negative a light as possible to make is seem like the author is saying that Judaism is a militant or something.

In other words, this video is wiggity-wack and you're making a fool of yourself when you say things like, "I just hope you understand why I got really upset at these bastards for something that THEY ADMITTED TO!" (Nope, they didn't.) AND, "I'm just extremely pissed off that you would defend these guys that were clearly happy to see 3000 American citizens die." (Um, no, not clear at all.) -Georgia invaded Ossetia first, with the support/assistance of the US. Russia then overreacted and kicked their ass. It is a conflict over oil and control over oil pipline pathways. That simple. It has nothing to do with Georgia's Democracy.

Magic is real.

The thing with South Osettia (SO) is that their seperatists had been shelling Georgian villages for a couple of days before Georgians intervened with their bombardment & troops. After that, Russian forces, which had already been amassed on the border a month or so before that, immediately entered SO - airstrikes, tanks, you name it.

Now why Russia did that is probably unclear to most people that your side of the pond. They're saying they're protecting their "compatriots", a label Kremlin propaganda seems to be throwing around without exhaustion these days, from an aggressive state (Georgia), while Russia for the past couple of years has actually been handing out citizenship and Russian passports to anyone they could in SO (which is constitutionally a part of Georgia) - seems now they did that to just be able to invade.

Back to the video, I have to say, this makes me sick, the last thing the world needs is a sequel to chechnya, what disgusts me more is the fact the Russian population doesn't seem to care, and from a military standpoint they have nothing to worry about because Russian military > Georgian military, so he chance of a attack by georgia on Russian soil is some where between nil and zero.
Now for the lowdown as I have heard it, basically georgia functions as a sovereign state and all that, but there is a breakaway region that ignores national borders of Ossetia, with south Ossetia in georgia and the north in Russia, but both parts of Ossetia officially belong to their respective states.
This is where the water gets a little murky, Russia claims amongst other things that georgia was committing genocide in south ossetia, and that they had an obligation to the south Ossetians to protect them. The Georgians claim that Russia's attack was an unprovoked invasion.
So this is the point we are at currently, with Georgia declaring a state of war on Russia, while angling for a ceasefire/end to hostilities, and Russia quite clearly attacking civilians as you can see in the videos that are already appearing on the sift.
I am not one to usually jump the gun, but what the heck, I would place Russia in the wrong here, since some reports place Georgian dead at around 2000 people, and the way their country is run almost as a dictatorship by any other name.
