heheh - now that I"m a bit more sober, I have to pull back just a bit from that grandiose compliment. It is one hell of a playlist, though.

I used to have a similar (i.e., word for word identical) philosophy on music. But after years of listening to the likes of the Grateful Dead, Bela Fleck, Johnny Cash, Allison Krauss, and dozens of other country musicians, I realized that what I didn't like in country was the same as what I didn't like in contemporary pop music - no soul. There is an incredible amount of really great country music out there if you learn to avoid the pop music crap created in Nashville studios. Given your otherwise very eclectic tastes, I'd recommend keeping that door not entirely closed.

Thanks man, Yeah my tastes in music is pretty much everything except country music. If I wanted to hear men crying then I'd go to a strip club and listen in on what they say to the hook erm um strippers

I was just about to go off on the inclusion of Sly in a "Muzak" playlist. Then I checked the whole list. Wow - that might be the best playlist on the sift. Nice work!

"Every minute, of everyday....for hundreds of thousands of years, the planet has made it clear; humans are part of the solution to a critical problem: Organic Compost. In unquenchable furnaces like Etna, Stromboli, and Yasur, along with allll her numerous and hidden, underwater fissures, pumping out what it takes to balance the odds in her favor, she remains dedicated....and with overdue kegs of life-stealing sulfuric acid like Yellowstone, Fuji, Etna, ready to pop, along with Mr. Shinyhot(the yellow round thing), she insures that long after this current iteration of human planetary activity, that there will be a layer of shit like plastic and tin cans, for the next monkeys to enjoy.
Global Climate Change. Aren't ya glad you can say you were there when self-absorbed putties had reason to suspect they made more than a scratch, in the planet's surface???

Throat Singing Tutorial

choggie says...

We can save this for ya, don't ya worry-Learned to do this after hearing it for about an hour on some Tuvan muzak cd-It is very hard to try to teach someone what is going on inside yer head, this goes for the blues harmonica, as well....unlike a woodwind or brass instrument, the would-be novice, can't see what to do with their tongues, pallet, or skeletal muscles effecting the nasal passages-Once you hit the overtones while throat-singing consistently, its kinda meditative-(annoying to others, esp. if yer a white boy)
I haven't even watched this vid yet, and can tell from the thumb, that this white boy is gonna be irritating......

so.....the sentiment now, after the event, thought they don't even understand it thoroughly themselves, is a mixture of confusion and disgust.....Regrets? They have them.....cause they were bloody rich fucking idiots, or that they filmed it, does not make it art-It was an act of drunkards, of the saturated, disillusioned, and confused.......

What's their muzak like anyhow??? Did not their success afford them some leisure time for some inner journey of lasting worth.....?Obviously not.

Add another to the ranks of having little or no respect for these tools....

*audio is very poor
(Do collude with them, however, in their preoccupation with previous lost civilizations, the #23, etc.....are they fucking idiots? Perhaps.
