The Great VideoSift Coming -Out Thread (Happy Talk Post)

budzos says...

My name's Craig. I'm 32 years old, raised and still living in the suburbs of Toronto. I have a small business doing websites and multimedia. I love movies, PC games, and comic books.

The internet is central to my life. My main goal in life is to keep as much free time as possible for pursuing my stream of consciousness. This is why I work for myself and usually don't have a girlfriend. I often take glee from the fact that I can sometimes go from start to finish on a project without actually meeting the client face to face.

Right this moment, I'm headed out the door to meet some friends for last call. This is after spending most of the evening sleeping, depressed in bed because I conked a pole with my car today, to the tune of $2000 - $3000 repair and I won't be putting it through insurance.

Filmmaker Peter Greenaway declares: cinema = dead

Filmmaker Peter Greenaway declares: cinema = dead

budzos says...

Traditional cinema is not dead by any means. People will cherish the passive tell-me-a-story type of film for a long time to come. Go make a lame DJ interactive bullshit multimedia thing if you must. No matter how great my home theatre gets, there will still be movies that I simply must see as soon as they are released. Plus the local theatre they just built has all digital screens and a bunch of VIP adult-only auditoriums with huge leather seats. So long as films maintain a release window where they are exclusively available in theatres, the movie business as we know it will never really die.

^ No, Blu-ray was created by a consortium. From the FAQ:

Who developed Blu-ray?

The Blu-ray Disc format was developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers, with more than 180 member companies from all over the world. The Board of Directors currently consists of:

Apple Computer, Inc.
Dell Inc.
Hewlett Packard Company
Hitachi, Ltd.
LG Electronics Inc.
Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation
Pioneer Corporation
Royal Philips Electronics
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
Sharp Corporation
Sony Corporation
Sun Microsystems, Inc.
TDK Corporation
Thomson Multimedia
Twentieth Century Fox
Walt Disney Pictures
Warner Bros. Entertainment

When will I be able to buy Blu-ray products?

If you live in the US or Canada you can already find Blu-ray players from Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, Philips and Pioneer available in stores, as well as a growing selection of Blu-ray movies. We also expect to see Blu-ray players from LG and Sharp, as well as a second-generation Blu-ray player from Samsung introduced in the near future. The first Blu-ray hardware and software should also be available in many European countries now.

Constitution and the Patriot Act

Constitutional_Patriot says...

He sure doesn't sound like a Fox news analyst but sure enough, he is. Ironically everything he's stating here would be banned from being shown on Fox news. I wouldn't say he's a douche though.. He writes about presidential, congressional, and judicial abuse of power.

In his book "The Constitution in Exile": He writes how the Federal Government Has Seized Power by Rewriting the Supreme Law of the Land, Judge Napolitano describes how reckless Congresses, imperial presidents, and compliant courts have expanded Washington's power far beyond the constitutional constraints. I'll get back with you on this.

I don't like to watch Fox news much because I've seen some pretty messed up shit there in the past, so I've never seen this guy on there before. More analysis is required for me to proclaim his righteousness or douchebaggery yet.

Check out the several small videos he has at http://www.judgenap.com/multimedia.html
It appears to me that he is a whistleblower from his observations of the Federal Judicial system from his time spent as a NJ Supreme court judge.
