I didnt name the 2 people in question but they both were downvoting the same type of video. It looked like a "Tip-off" from one "sift-informer" to "sift-police":p How much are informers getting paid these days?


I'm going to reply to this with a timeline of my own actions. Reason is this:

in aparently reply to a coment i made, just before it.

KP posted a vid. clearly a rediculouse vid. a vid of horrror. i see it (in early unsifted state) as i was browsing reasent comments, and saw Issys coment invokation * Fear:

I watched the vid by KP and was horrified. I upvoted the fear coment. I didnt down vote. Not yet. Why? it wasnt sifted. and, i didnt want to attracked increased attention to this attrocity.

later, KP left me a comment profile suggesting i down vote his vid. why? because it was getting perilously close to getting sifted and it was truly awefull. He left such coments on a ffew peoples profiles, this being a bit of an injoke/entertaniment amoungst the regulars.

I duly downvote, as the + to - vote ratio was on the wrong balance.

Kps videos had mr pregnant in the tags.

I was at the bottom of the vid page, to see who else had down/upvoted. In so doing, i spoted http://wtf.videosift.com/video/Big-Belly-Man-Been-missing-you in the related videos section. very similar thumbnails. Isnt there for me now, but was at the time.

Sometimes, after one vid from a src gets sifted (or even submitted) others from that src get sifted too, by the human jump on bandwagon reaction i myself have succumbed to at times. These vids were too bad to ignore, and the thought of several on the front page could nto be countenanced.

This meme needed nipping in the bud, and fast.

So i watched the above vid, didnt like it, not one bit, and down voted. I also left eh follwing coment: "href="/video/Big-Belly-Man-Been-missing-you#comment-519237

which was immediately followed by the one at the top by prisonpanda referring to "the internet police" and suggesting "chill out and stop trying to police this site" which is such utter bullshit its beyond words. its attempting to police the site through up and down votes, that stops it being YouTube. its the WHOLE FUCKING point of being here.

it was shortly after that the sift talk post about http://wtf.videosift.com/talk/Voting-here-is-like-blockvotes-at-Eurovision-song-Contest was posted, making similar statements

So thats my actions, and the chronolgy/sequence/reasons for them.

As for Ban or Not Ban, if, thoes down votes were legit to qthe quality fo the watched vids, fine. if not, and an emotional outburst, then i vote for rules is rules and 2 week suspension/ban as i think thats the standard duration.

DONT down vote from spite. down vote cos the vid is bad, and the Mr Pregnant vids 9atleast the 2 i watched) are appauling

panda - comedy is highly subjective.

i wouldn't find this funny, either. but, in my case, it just means i don't bother clicking on Mr Pregnant videos. i find other weird shit to laugh at, that you may or may not.
and if you watched it, and thought it sucked, just downvote it.

so long as your vote was clearly on the clip, and not the submitter, you won't hear any nonsense about it. no one asked you to discard this. some laughed, some didn't.
