Girl On An Escalator

00Scud00 says...

I may have to check some of this stuff out, essential reading for my descent into dirty old manhood. But then I've also had some friends who have recommended Gabriel Garcia Marquez's; Memories of My Melancholy Whores.

Feel Good inc.

City's breaking down on a camel's back
They just have to go 'cause they don't know whack
So all you fill the streets it's appealing to see
You won't get out the county, 'cause you're bad and free
You've got a new horizon It's ephemeral style
A melancholy town where we never smile
And all I want to hear is the message beep
My dreams, they've got to kiss, because I don't get sleep, no

Windmill, Windmill for the land
Learn forever hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is stinking, falling down
Love forever love is free
Let's turn forever you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?

Laughing gas these hazmats, fast cats
Lining them up-a like ass cracks
Ladies, homies, at the track
It's my chocolate attack
Shit, I'm stepping in the heart of this here
Care bear bumping in the heart of this here
Watch me as I gravitate, ha ha ha
Yo, we gonna go ghost town
This Motown, with yo sound
You're in the place
You gonna bite the dust
Can't fight with us
With yo sound, you kill the INC
So don't stop, get it, get it
Until you're cheddar header
Yo, watch the way I navigate, ha ha ha

Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is stinking, falling down
Love forever love is free
Let's turn forever you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?

Homeless Mustard covers "Creep" by Radiohead

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

I never get tired of hearing covers of this song, as I said almost six years ago in this same thread, the song has power.

On reflection, I think it's the chords. Something about that melancholy shift from F major to minor.

Beautiful!! *love, *art, *promote!
The video works very well in deed in contrast to the upbeat music.
Would fit right into a *melancholy or *sadness channel...

"Tis The Season To Be Moody" Tales Of Mere Existence

Cheers, unmet friend. Socking down a shot of Mexican brandy in your honor. Gonna chase it with some vino of indiscriminate origins.

Salute! May happiness be yours, now.

(shudder...good stuff....)

I consulted the "I Ching" today. It told me, and I quote:

"What unnecessary melancholy! You put your imagination and your soul aside and say: 'Look how sad I am!' This is what closes the way. It has no value whatsoever."

A gorilla can't very well buy the book of I Ching a drink, so I am at a loss as to how to pay my compliments.

Hope you're happy. Healthy. Not necessarily in that order.

Above all else...thanks for thinking of me.

You poured a little water on this cactus I call a heart.

It will sustain me....

And I owe you one.

Forrest Gump- Running scene

Don't get me wrong Bone, it was a great movie. I was being a little bit melancholy in that this movie is infintely sadder than happier for me. And that's not a bad thing--it just means the story really set in my heart one way, and even the happiness makes me look with sad nostalgia.

One of the top five, imo.

Russell Brand Hilarious on Chelsea Lately

jmd says...

first time seeing Chelsea. Its hard to tell if I want. It is clear it is very hard to read her and determine when she is sincere or being funny. On the one hand I kind of like that (This is one of the main reasons I like the anime "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". The Japanese vocalization of Haruhi was truly unique and brought both an excitement and yet extreme bluntness to the character rarely seen), on the other hand it's hard to tell if she even cares, and if she doesn't care then I don't feel like I should.
