How the Media Failed Women in 2013

chingalera says...

So all you X-Men fans can relate to the character of Loki being the bad-guy nemesis of all things righteous and earthly/human, right? He comes down from Asgard with no checks or balances from his own universe and attempts to lure mankind through force into a slave-like existence of servitude stating the obvious as to the true nature of humankind and their desire to be led, fed, bred and in essence, dead...He offers nothing but his will over theirs and demands only from the lower creatures obedience and the servile future that is in fact, their destiny in robotic loyalty to their nature.

Imagine if you will, the planet as a chessboard with the majority of humans aboard as pawns with the ruling elite acting as the Asgardian rebel, and you have the state of affairs on planet now. These minor diversions and illusions of personal freedoms and human rights portioned-out in small doses by those who control the illusion that these concepts actually exist for humanity when in reality, countries and nations are mere herd pens for the game-makers to contain their stock.

Wrap your heads around this and you are closer to the true nature of the current paradigm than most care to deal with.

That there is some tangible or meaningful dichotomy between the males and females of the herd is part of the illusion created through the propaganda of mass media...it's but another well-honed tool to keep humans distracted by bullshit and keeps humanity easily controlled.

Tell us all something VooDooVoo, what's the difference between you shitting all over a post and what you accuse me of, eh? I have a legitimate beef with rabid supporters of any particular ideology or philosophy when the shit becomes tiresome and repetitious when tinctured with rage and anger and intolerance.Lurking around to voice your disdain with me is infantile and boring, as well as passive-aggressive and insulting. Way to show that ass, baby-What would Jesus do, eh?? He'd most-likely wipe the dust from his feet and walk the fuck on, but I ain't a follower now am I??

Not saying I'm any different from you in my irritation with insolence or in my tendency to foment discord, I'm the devil's own advocate. Is YOUR ego larger than any barn or should I be the one staring into a mirror?

Jesus himself told the most pompous and self-righteous religious nuts to pray to god in a closet where he alone could hear and to give a fuck what mankind saw them doing and not to take it into the streets, atheists would do well to follow the same sage advice-

You remind me of two of my favorite quotes though:

If we've learnt anything from history, it is that we never learn anything from history.

The belief that enhanced understanding will necessarily stir a nation to action is one of mankind's oldest illusions.

I don't have any answers, but I can share the depression with you . Also, those of us fortunate enough to be born in the west are living the life of kings historically speaking.

I just cant watch these videos anymore. After 5 mins max I get tears in my eyes when I think about the people not caring what is happening, even though there were so many warnings in history, and now we even have hard hard facts.
People just dont care. Once again, humanity proves, that its too stupid to learn from history. And I honestly cant call anyone an intelligent being, who isnt even able to learn from simple history that EVERYONE learns in school, nor reacts properly to actual happenings.

She can promote whistle blowing as much as she wants, if the VAST VAST majority doesnt care, its no use.

Not my concern, though it saddens me that your big brain begins to hurt when you hear some truth-You mistake a condescending tone or holier-than-thou attitude for my having brought you a glimpse of the non-linearity I am both caught in the center of in real-time, and see increasing exponentially for the entire world.

While it's fun to imagine some fantasy land where everyone recycles, wars are gone, Jews and gentiles and Muslims all joining hands and playing X-Box One, it's heading in another direction.

You don't really have to decipher my dialog, I'm of average intelligence, and I'm not calling people sheeple, just observing the obvious based on years of work on self-awareness and the nature of mankind. We're predictable. Just like I predicted when taking-on this style of diatribe and discourse, picking one of many video depicting police action in the world today. I did this with purpose, to draw-out those of you who haven't figured it out yet that radical change is afoot.

Predictable also, is that something so incredibly horrifying as police and government in every single aspect of a modern human's life, could sound so utterly fantastic to someone who apparently resorts to "destroying the messenger" because the message is so abhorrent and unthinkable.
Sheppard did it, jump fight in and make my case for me.

Deepok Chopra is easier for me to understand that people throwing their human rights in the toilet for an inability to process information staring them right in the face.

Morality and the Christian God - Sam Harris

Lawdeedaw says...

The pictures of children dying are rather overboard but I digress. Also, the argument about God not being able to stop suffering or death is a false argument. And here is why.

You know children that cannot feel any pain sensation at all? They scratch their own eyeballs out or rip holes into their flesh. They also don't feel pleasure. Why shouldn't God take away pain? Because survival says that's fucking stupid.

Also, sadness or happiness or anything MUST have a counterpart to even exist. Tragedy brings happiness. We miss our children only because we loved them and we loved them only because we know we might not always have that chance. However, mankind brings more tragedy than naturally balancing and we bring far more than God will ever bring. (I don't believe in God so I believe we are all the root for excessive suffering.)

The Problem with Civil Obedience

Mammaltron says...

Nonsense. Without government, the 'big guys' are just whichever warlord / king / gang / tribe / corporation can monopolise resources by force.

without government, there'd be no "big guys" to exploit the subsidies and cronyism that are implicit in the original monopoly that is "government."

Van Jones: Let's Stop Trying to Please Republicans

deedub81 says...

Van Jones is kinda kooky in my opinion. I digress.

To imply that Obamacare is a Republican plan is ludicrous. Why can politicians not take responsibility for their own legislation? Republicans and Democrats are all the same. I see little difference between the two parties. They are all reactive, knee-jerk legislators that believe there needs to be a law for every situation known to mankind.

Leave the American People alone. Me and my neighbors can take care of ourselves.

Van Jones should read Dr. Covey's book:

“Proactive is a word you won’t find in most dictionaries. It means more than merely taking initiative. It means that as human beings, we are responsible for our own lives. Our behavior is a function of our decisions, not our conditions. We can subordinate feelings to values. We have the initiative and the responsibility to make things happen.

Look at the word responsibility- “response-ability”- the ability to respond. Highly proactive people recognize that responsibility. They do not blame circumstances, conditions or conditioning for their behavior. Their behavior is a product of their own conscious choice, based on values, rather than a product of their conditions, based on feeling.

Because we are, by nature, proactive, if our lives are a function of conditioning and conditions, it is because we have, by conscious decision or by default, chosen to empower those things to control us.

In making such a choice, we become reactive. Reactive people are often affected by their physical environment. If the weather is good, they feel good. If it isn’t, it affects their attitude and their performance. Proactive people can carry their own weather with them. Whether it rains or shines makes no difference to them. They are value driven; and if their value is to produce good quality work, it isn’t a function of whether the weather is conducive to it or not.

Reactive people are also affected by the social environment, by the “social weather.” When people treat them well, they feel well, when people don’t, they become defensive or protective. Reactive people build their emotional lives around the behavior of others, empowering the weaknesses of other people to control them.

The ability to subordinate an impulse to a value is the essence of the proactive person. Reactive people are driven by feelings, by circumstances, by conditions, by their environment. Proactive people are driven by values-carefully thought about, selected and internalized values.

Proactive people are still influenced by external stimuli, whether physical, social, or psychological. But their response to the stimuli, conscious or unconscious, is a value-based choice or response.

As Eleanor Roosevelt observed, “No one can hurt you without your consent.” In the word of Gandhi , “They cannot take away our self respect if we do not give it to them” It is our willing permission, our consent to what happens to us, that hurts us far more than what happens to us in the first place.

I admit this is very hard to accept emotionally, especially if we have had years and years of explaining our misery in the name of circumstance or someone else’s behavior. But until a person can say deeply and honestly, “I am what I am today because of the choices I made yesterday,” that person cannot say, “I choose otherwise.”

Black Sabbath ~ War Pigs

lurgee says...

\m/ \m/

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of death's construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds
Oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait 'til their judgement day comes
Yeah!

Now in darkness world stops turning
Ashes where the bodies burning
No more war pigs have the power
Hand of God has struck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees the war pig's crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan laughing spreads his wings
Oh lord yeah!

mark fiore-america for sale-let free market reign

chingalera says...

Quite true poolcleaner, apples and oranges with regard to the herd, but can you discount the horrors wreaked upon mankind by the foul beast gravity? Haven't you let the acceleration of our planet relative to our downward, weighted force off too easily??

mark fiore-america for sale-let free market reign

poolcleaner says...

The whole capitalism versus socialism thing is so anticlimactic because you'd imagine any pattern in existence has the potential to provide a service; and in order to find the most optimal setup, you'd need a combination of all types of ideas. You don't discredit gravitational force because you like electromagnetic force better, citing the horrors which gravity has wrought upon mankind.

VoodooV said:

There's always going to be some form of capitalism. Want all the latest toys, bigger house, luxury car, yeah you're going to have to have a high paying job for stuff like that.

It will take a long time, but people will eventually draw some lines and decide that certain things are immoral to make profit off of or at the very least regulate such things heavily to keep greed in check.

We have to find a better mix of capitalism and socialism.

In Rare Interview, Assad Hints of Retaliation Against U.S.

chingalera says...

My god the man's skull....
Ok so, before anyone starts riding Bashar Assad's cock, please do a bit of research on this mealy-mouthed worm, he's a real piece-a-work. Groomed to retain power, fast-tracked military appointments and commendations yadda-yadda, a crew of spin-doctors around him for several years leading-up to his "popular" support he continually blathers-on about in the full interview.

Mankind oh-ye, piity all Syrians.

He didn't gain this so-called, popular support through any means other than intimidation, fear, and mind-control and the pressure to rise to the situation his ailing father no-doubt drilled-into him day and night.

Queen Humiliates Obama During Toast

JustSaying says...

Dude, haven't you learned anything from history?
If you go and kill all the rich, powerful, queens, kings, presidents and top managers, somebody else will just take their place. Everything might be nice and polite in the beginning but in the end there's always one asshole more powerhungry than his peers, there will always be greed and corruption.
You can not escape human nature.
You want to end this, end mankind. Suck it down or kill'em all. I choose not to become the Bond villian.

Although I'd have the laugh for the part.

Dr Sanjay Gupta's CNN Special "WEED"

vaire2ube says...

naw, unlike most "drugs" that ruin lives as a property of their chemical interactions, cannabis is completely safe.

the only thing that will cause harm is exacerbating an existing medical condition that is prone to the hypertension, or actions taken while in an "unsafe" setting like toking up the first time while driving.

hardly a reason to worry about it, most therepeutically safe substance known to mankind, as well as the fact that even if medical use isnt the reason, recreational use with properly informed persons will result in no harm and possible benefit.

even if people started using it at the volume and frequency of alcohol, their lives would actually be made better because of the effects of the plant.

infuriating but the truth is finally coming out. the US has a patent on CBD since 2003 through the dept of health and human services for its antiinflammatory effects. .. and no one even knows about CBD, even really educated people who have the internet. its fucked up. See the TED sift about willful ignorance.

when it becomes easier to be informed then not, we will see a change. thats fucked up, but whatever im not like that. ill keep trying.

10 Tragedies Caught on Film

Shepppard says...

As mentioned, these are basically all historical footage of transportation accidents, and famous ones at that. There are definitely a couple in here that are straight up snuff by sift guidelines, but the entire piece as a whole is more of a documentary.

It's not just "Hey look, this guy got shot and now he's bleeding out, lets watch", it's more "This is a look at some of the most terrible accidents mankind has had, each with a backstory as to why it happened, and is generally part of a larger event."

I actually read up on practically every one of these incidents, and to my surprise each one I looked up had detailed information of events that happened up to 100 years ago. The first clip being of a man who wanted to test his parachute idea, so he convinced french authorities to let him test it by having it go over the side of the Eiffel Tower. What he didn't tell them until the day of, however, was that he wasn't going to use a dummy, he was going to test it himself. In a sense, it's the first ever Darwin award caught on film.

Each clip has history to it, and a timestamp / title allowing research into what they are, and is in a sense educational on the broader sense. Again, not just "Hey, this guy was flying too low at an airshow, so lets watch him crash."

Its an interesting discussion... i didn't watch... really i just don't want to watch people die. My instinct tells me this is not 'snuff'... at least as i think of it.

My question would be this... What if these videos were all HD, or from a few years ago.
