interesting bit of trivia... during this speech both Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer were standing just off stage, when Jobs looks to his left is where they are standing just out of sight.

he does after this video introduce them, Gates steps forward from behind the curtain and waves, looking like he's 12 years old

He is introduced as the major apps maker for the macintosh bringing many software titles to the new machine.

Very interesting find. It reminds me of when I first started playing around with 3D animation in 1995 when I found a copy of Infini-D at work. This video brought back the thrill of generating those first animations and figuring out how it all worked. I only had 4 meg of RAM on a 33 Mhz Macintosh Quadra but I didn't care, it was a lot of fun to be able to do any of this stuff. I wasn't modeling hands or faces like these guys, my animations were more like the opening credits of this video.

Thanks for posting this.

Macintosh virus discovered!

oritteropo says...

As Mac desktop market share increases, the payoff for developing Mac specific malware (or porting Windows malware) increases.

Nobody has put a big investment in yet, or if they have they have kept it so low profile that they haven't been rumbled. That said though, if you download pirated Mac software you're just as likely as windows users to be sending your cc details to the Russian Mafia soon after, joining your computer to their cloud computing effort, or perhaps just getting a lot more advertising pop-ups.

This week there's still much more money in Windows malware. It all comes down to accounting and financial forecasts.

I don't really keep track, how are Mac viruses panning out?
