Liquid Nitrogen Under Vacuum - Solid Nitrogen
just an FYI, there's a restaurant in LA (don't remember the name) that makes fresh alcoholic otterpops right in front of you with a pitcher of liquid nitrogen. so that ship sailed long ago i'm afraid =D

Awesome, Unique Design Makes this Lock Un-Pickable
Normal U-Locks with accessible Key holes are way to easy to break. Just spray lots of liquid air into the keyhole - this freezes the lock mechanism and one-two hit with a hammer and it falls apart instantly.
(some people also use liquid Nitrogen)
This design protects against that.

How NOT to Pull Your Truck Out of the Ice
Cold would make a steel frame contract (a little) and make it more brittle / less malleable. But, it'd have to be *extremely* cold (like, liquid Nitrogen cold or beyond) to make it so brittle that it would be more likely to break before bending.
As a result of being merely natural environment cold (in liquid water so not less than 0 C) it probably was a bit more brittle (and therefore harder / less malleable) than the same metal would have been at higher temperatures. Maybe it took a measurable percentage more force to bend in those conditions -- but clearly not enough to prevent it from folding like a paperclip given the massive force on it.
Possible that I'm off on some or all of that, been a long time since Engineering Physics at Uni.
Shouldn't the cold make the metal contract and therefore less maleable as opposed to bend like a sheet? (genuine question)
