Epic Racist Moment on Game Show

I'm curious as to how you know these people's life stories, so much so that you are sure they've never achieved anything of which to be proud? Could it be that you are making a shallow judgment about theim based on their appearance and musical choices? I have to say that I find your blatant snap-prejudice more detestable than some alleged poser's stance.

>> ^longde:
Yeah, how dare those 's have some pride and hold their heads high. Why the nerve? Don't they know their place, dammit!?!?
....Obama's the worst one, I tells ya....>> ^Enzoblue:
I think what this guy is truly objecting to, (if he had the IQ to work it out in his head), is the black man's sense of entitlement which can be over-bearing in some. I read recently about the difference between self-esteem and self-image. Self-esteem coming from good deeds that make positive changes in your world, (that a stereotypical ghetto black man doesn't have), vs self-image that the stereotypical black man is over-flowing with.
You do see this boisterous in your face self-image a lot, just walking down the street with their heads held high, daring anyone to challenge them. The mistake, however, is to lump all blacks in this category and assume that all blacks with their heads held high are doing so to compensate for low self-image, which this guy is doing.

Having pride and holding your head high when you've done nothing to be proud of except perfecting the appearance of being an original gangsta or playa or whatever is detestable. That's what I'm saying. Self-esteem comes from within and can only be obtained by good deeds and caring and empathy. Self-image is a facade, (what you think other people think of you), and is easily faked.

If you agree that holding your head high because you hold 3 jobs to put your kid brother through school and holding your head high because you have a gun in your pocket are two different things, then you'll understand what I'm saying. Those two different attitudes are visibly noticeable too.

No, I got that part. I'm just wondering how does one distinguish a "stereotypical" black man from one who simply likes hip hop styles?

I think you missed the part where Enzo said "stereotypical black man".

Another Question For Atheists

Xaielao says...

Well first, the bible wasn't written singularly but rather a collection of a variety of 'apostles' own writings. Which you should know if you've ever opened one of these books.

Second, the ones in the bible were written from 50 to 200 years of his 'death'. They were all a second, third or fourth generation telling of the tale.

Third, in the very earliest 'books' that eventually went on to become the bible, the first one we know about, Jesus was never talked about as a real person but rather as a spiritual being. It wasn't until 'many' years later that the spiritual 'son of god' was given a story of his supposed life. All those manuscripts and 'books' of the bible, at least a hundred of them, conflicted greatly about the 'man'.

Fourth, the story of Jesus mirrors almost exactly other gods in ancient mythology. It is a 'very' common theme going back many thousands of years. Jesus was far from the first 'son of god' and far from the first who was resurrected after his untimely death.

In the end it is easy to understand that A: The bible was not written by god, and B: Jesus was originally an idea of a man. Jesus was so 'perfect' because he was a symbol and his life story was just taken from that of far older stories of other gods who were the son of god and fleshed out over many hundreds of years until finally around the sixth century a group came together and chose the 12 books we have today (from at least one hundred) to form the bible you know of today.. although that has constantly been reshaped as well.

Did I just write all that when I could have just said;

'Your an idiot.' ?

this sort of happened today at the store, this either extremely friendly guy who doesn't take a hint or factual autistic person came in and started telling his life story to the grocery clerk, he just kept going and going and all she said was " oh that's cool " and he just kept going.

Foals - Balloons

lampishthing says...

This are pretty samey. HOWEVER, if you listen to the songs singly every now and then they're pretty class.
I loved balloons when it came out and listened to it on repeat. Then I got the album and was disappointed. Then I started listening to red sox pugie a lot. Then I listened to Cassius a lot. I never listen to the whole album though, it doesn't hold one's attention very well.

And that's my life story up until now.>> ^Seric:

Cassius is good as well I think...
Oh, and red sox pugie always catches you off guard
Hmm. Maybe I should sift some Foals. Indie never sifts though

A friend dragged me along to see them live. I concluded all their songs are practically identical.

DeLorean repossession gets surreal as owner turns into MJ

arvana says...

Well I just checked the Wikipedia entry for Operation Repo:

Operation Repo is an American television program where a fictional repossession team from the San Fernando Valley in California re-enact the repossession of vehicles for finance companies.

Although as a channel, truTV is described as presenting "real-life stories told from an exciting and dramatic first-person perspective", Operation Repo consists of scripted re-enactments where the team is often confronted by actors portraying debtors and police officers in the repossessions.

So in other words, it's fake. Or at the very least only a re-enactment of something that may have actually happened.
