An 11-year old plays Contra for the first time

Drax says...

Once someone gets used to one type of controller for FPS's they swear off the other. I have a friend who swears she's better at Left4Dead on the 360 controller when I know just about *anyone* will do better with a mouse and keyboard in that game. It's just once someone gets used to one type the other way suddenly feels off.

And yes the questions where kind of annoying in a "Hey crowd, wait till you hear his response to THIS one...", kind of way.

Any gamers in the crowd? (Blog Entry by JiggaJonson)

Not as much as I used to, and sadly since I wish I had more time to play some of the stuff today. The earliest games I would play were on the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64.

I would agree though, I picked up Mass Effect now that its only $20 on Steam despite already having it on the 360... because I cannot stand playing a game like that with a controller. I have played just about every fps game from even before Wolfenstein 3D (Catacombs of the Abyss anyone?) to whats available now with a mouse and keyboard.

My Steam username is *cough* Croccydile but I have not really played Left4Dead since it got boring to me. I can only get a decent group for Expert with people I know at LANs.

Oh yeah, um, we do try to get in WC3 play at lans with most of what everyone likes to play... mostly tower defense maps and I think one called Seven Heroes?

Probably because nobody sees the large ads plastered all over the original website when its embedded here. I guess they had to do something when they stopped showing ads in the video.

About Fallout 3:

It might be post-apocalyptic Oblivion, but using an existing well made game engine and tidying it up a bit means I don't have to upgrade my computer to play this game. It runs beautifully, looks great, and the map is enormous.

Unfortunately, yes, the subways are a increasingly boring cut+paste job the more you play in them. At least you can skip them once you have discovered the entry/exits in fast travel.

It's a shame that left4dead came out yesterday, now I'm stuck playing *that*

i bet yer machine would play the second half-life...that was fun.

BUT, after you upgrade get F.E.A.R..... it's an awesome game.... maybe even Quake IV

Actually was able to run those OK. Got HL2 Orange Box, Quake IV, played FEAR. The only thing my machine doesn't really fun are the latest games that came out in the last year or so, ie. CoD4, STALKER, UT3, etc.

It's a P4 3.2 (no duo/quad proc) with 2GB PC3200 and a BFG Tech Nvidia 7800 (still AGP). So it's definitely an older rig, but still handles everything say....pre-'07 pretty good. Eventually I'll upgrade but it won't be for awhile as I'm putting myself through school on my own. I make too much to get grants, etc, but not enough to go full time and get it done and over with fast. I'm thinking I'll have to upgrade for when Fallout 3, GTA4 and Left4Dead hit. Definitely upgrade for L4D.
