'Where The Wild Things Are' Trailer - New Spike Jonze Film

I really hope they avoid all the trappings of CGI. Henson had it right all along, but people nowadays fail to understand we want the puppets -- at least I want the puppets. It worked in Labyrinth and The Never Ending Story and The Dark Crystal.

I've had this conversation with friends. I totally agree.

Hmm, maybe. But I'm afraid it will be another case of Hollywood taking something sweet and simple and blowing up into a 2 hour CGI Crapapalooza. Looking forward to the Happy Meal toys.

I will buy all the happy meal toys regardless. Decorating my desk at work is the priority.

Something That Worries Me About Videosift... (Cinema Talk Post)

EEEERRRRrrryow! It's Hobble! Tch! The last thing *I* want to be doing, is correcting a bunch of you inside this labyrinth, hmmph. Especially if we ever make it to the Bog of Eternal Stench....

Nightbreed Trailer

You know, I kind of feel like Clive Barker movies have like one cool thing about them and are utter shit aside from that. This one for example: David Cronenburg is awesome, the rest of the movie is embarrassingly written.

When you think of a movie like Pan's Labyrinth and the amazing creativity of the creatures there, I really just shudder at the stupid "monsters" in this movie. Porcupine woman? Really? She shoots quills... you don't say.

Edit: Upvote, because I actually do enjoy bad movies almost as much as good movies.

Hitchens: Christianity is not imposed?

bluecliff says...

It is clear that the world is purely parodic, in other words, that each thing seen is the parody of another, or is the same thing in a deceptive form.

Ever since sentences started to circulate in brains devoted to reflection, an effort at total identification has been made, because with the aid of a copula each sentence ties one thing to another; all things would be visibly connected if one could discover at a single glance and in its totality the tracings of Ariadne's thread leading thought into its own labyrinth.

But the copula of terms is no less irritating than the copulation of bodies. And when I scream I AM THE SUN an integral erection results, because the verb to be is the vehicle of amorous frenzy.

Gogol Bordello - Super Theory of Everything (Live)

MrFisk says...

First time I had read the Bible
It had stroke me as unwitty
I think it may started rumor
That the Lord ain't got no humor

Put me inside SSC
Let's test superstring theory
Oh yoi yoi accelerate the protons
stir it twice and then just add me, 'cause

I don't read the Bible
I don't trust disciple
Even if they're made of marble
Or Canal Street bling

From the maelstrom of the knowledge
Into the labyrinth of doubt
Frozed underground ocean
melting - nuking on my mind

Yes give me Everything Theory
Without Nazi uniformity
My brothers are protons
My sisters are neurons
Stir it twice, it's instant family!

I don't read the Bible
I don't trust disciple
Even if they're made of marble
Or Canal Street bling

My brothers are protons
My sisters are neurons
Stir it twice dlja prekrastnih dam...

Do you have sex maniacs
Or schizophrenics
Or astrophysicists in your family
Was my grandma anti anti
Was my grandpa bounty bounty
Hek-o-hek-o-hej-o
They ask me in embassy!

'Cause I don't read the Bible
I don't trust disciple
Even if they're made of marble
Or Canal Street bling

And my grandma she was anti!
And my grandpa he was bounty!
And stir it twice
And then just add me!

Thanks for the support kronos. No worries about me getting discouraged by low vote #s - truth be told I don't expect many in the first place.

Actually, I didn't think I would even sift this many videos from the beginning. It started out of curiosity on my part, to see how well a few of my personal favorites would do. From there it grew, as I'd scan through my iTunes and search for any music videos that might be out there, while being selective about the quality and Sift-worthiness.

If I've slowed down a bit, the only reason is because I'm running out of music material. Most videos I post are ones I find along the way, so it's not like I have a huge backlog hidden somewhere and am hesitating to post. Once I get my own Internet connection (presently hijacking someone's wifi using my MacBook), I am bound to start searching for more new music.

Thanks again, and I'll keep on sifting as long as I find things to sift. In the meantime, I'm happy simply upvoting, searching, and reading up on the infinite labyrinth of material VideoSift has to offer.

And while I'm at it, much kudos and good karma your way, kronos, for putting so much work into the Sift and making everyone feel welcome (along with your endless supply of hilarious comments). It wouldn't be the same without you.

Another typically awesome pick, EDM.

Lemme tell ya, because I'm so frickin' wise I shit knowledge:

It's hard sifting *obscure shit here at the sift. Just ask Farhad2000, Eklek, or JAPR. Nonetheless, don't give up. You bring freshness to us stale old fogies. I love my classic music, but time did not stop in 1995. My ears NEED new music too, and I thank you for providing it.

I thank you for being here and continuing to sift, to bring us all up to date on what the best of the music world is offering. So please don't get discouraged by low votes for your videos. It's an imperfect system we have here, so great videos often get overlooked. Still, you're being true to yourself, and that is worth more than its weight in gold.

So thanks for keeping it real too.
