Man goes viral for incredible long jumps over cups in China

BSR says...

Well, that's a different answer to a different question. I think you really want to do the math but there are no county fairs where you live. Amirite?

I don't want to do math, I'm just curious if he should take up long jump or stop sabotaging his running career for likes.

Man goes viral for incredible long jumps over cups in China

BSR says...

Measure the diameter of the cup circle and times it by 60. Of course you would probably have to go to a county fair to find that kind of cup anymore.

Looks good, but what's the actual distance? How does it compare with average long jumpers?

Jefferson County Fair. I can't remember which year.

Best Birthday Surprise Ever!!

Trout says...

Yeah it's funny and all. Sort of.

I just watched the original. The kid is actually delighted at getting a giant "monster truck" poster. You know, the kind of oversized car crusher with huge wheels that they show off at county fair tractor pulls.

I have kids this age. And looking at this kid - buzz cut, track pants, burly dad with a Steelers jersey - I can't help but cringe when I think what his Monday morning will be like at his likely rural U.S. public middle school. If I had to make an educated guess, he's going to get bullied. For weeks.

So down vote for me. De-viral this one. And it's not that funny anyway.

This brush is very similar to the brush that I use, and I think it's the best one out there. It may seem pricey, but it is totally worth it. It won't fall apart, and it's a great design and really gets the most fur out in the shortest time. I've only had mine for a little less than a year (got it at a County Fair last summer for only 25 bucks), and I've seen these brushes go for 50-70 dollars in pet supply stores. Before that, I would use a flea comb and a slicker brush which worked decently, but after getting this brush, I never went back.

Thanks for that... I've tried the mitts and a "Zoom Groom"- she hates 'em. I've got a couple different brushes too- do you have a specific reccomendation for brushes to try?

Fur real? (Sorry.)

Is your cat an adult, or is she still young? I'm guessing she isn't accustomed to being brushed regularly. Even though my Issy is short-haired, she is VERY used to being brushed. In fact, she quite enjoys it! She likes follow me into the bathroom and jump up on the (closed) carpeted toilet and is basically telling me that she is ready for a brushing. I've brushed her since she was a itty bitty kitty, and it's supposed to be a great activity to help you bond with your cat. All I can say is, make sure you have a really good brush/ de-shedder. I have one that looks like a metal rake, and it gets a LOT of loose hairs out very efficiently. Try getting a firm hold of her scruff so that you may avoid getting bitten or scratched, and only brush her in very very short sessions. Maybe you can slowly get her accustomed to it, and maybe she will even learn to like it. Hope that this is of some help, and good luck!

edit: I just thought of something else. There are also grooming mitts available in some pet supply stores, and these might make it easier to get her accustomed to grooming before moving on to the brushings.

I need some help. My Kittie needs a brushin' too- it being spring and all, but she'll only (barely) tolerate it for about 30 seconds before drawin' blood. Any advice to offer?
