I'm not sure what scares me more about you snake, your comments or the fact you associate yourself with a character played by Kurt Russel.

As for Kurt Russell, Snake Plissken is a cool character and the obsession ends there.

Ya, Harrison was working as a carpenter. He was working on a door jamb when Lucas and an assistant went into the hall to look for a stand-in. The assistant saw Ford and said, "Why don't we use this guy?"

Turns out that the assistant was a friend of Ford's who had gotten him into the building. And the door jamb was perfectly fine. Ford had been "working" on it for hours, waiting for the right moment.

Kurt Russel would have been very different. This was one of those rare occassions when the perfect cast came together.

Well, except for Briggs.

This is good. part of it was on the documentary that came with the box-set. It was interesting to know that Lucas was actually just using Ford as a stand-in for the Skywalker screentest, to deliver lines to the auditioners. He got so used to his delivery that he cast him.

I think originally he was thinking Kurt Russell for the Solo role. That would have been different.

Also I think I remember seeing the actor who played "The Greatest American Hero" screen testing for Skywalker.
