V-Tech Killer confession video
This is from Harry Shearer in the Huffington Post:
Not so easy is the answer to the question: what is the possible journalistic explanation for splashing Cho's self-dramatizing poses and self-justifying bullsh*t over network and cable air? Did we learn anything useful during the spate of interviews of Charlie Manson years ago, except that he was one crazy motherf***er? Cho's pathetic outpourings deserved to be put back where they came from--in a small room, with FBI guys sentenced to read/see and parse them Instead, a hundred thousand self-pitying mentally ill young men (and women?) have just been shown the road to glory one more time. A society in which it's easier to become famous for killing people than for doing something useful or constructive is one remarkable place in which to live.
Hmmmm, what to do? (Sift Talk Post)
My history of semi-applicable comments notwithstanding, I was noticing a definite overall trend in the comments leaning more towards YouTubish Noobish than the normal VideoSift Friendly Drift. YouTube comment sections are absolutely filled with trolls, racists and "Halo Heroes"©®. Huffington Post has an "Abusive" button next to every comment that anyone can hit to bring said "abuse" to the attention of an admin. This could also be set to flag admins after a minimum number of hits. Hell, you could even set it to automatically remove a comment if a set number of members with gold star (or whatever) or above hit it.
Barack Obama keynote at '04 DNC Convention (part 1)
Also a similar plot line played out in Virginia where Webb lacked party support for his primary bid, but won anyway again through "people powered" politics. Also the fact that Webb is even in competition with Allen is a pretty strong indicator of the power of the internet. The macaca story would have gone no where without the likes of dkos, mydd, huffington post, and youtube.
