Asian flush, explained.
I often get a immediate headaches and flushing when drinking wine, prosecco, beer etc etc. For ages I thought it might be asian flush, but now I think it is more likely some sort of reaction to sulfites or histamines, especially since spirits have little or no effect on me (besides, you know, getting drunk...)
I wonder if / how often that same mutation occurs in Caucasians / Westerners... My mom goes very red after not much booze, and I do to a certain extent also.
Injustice in the Coffee Contest. Is this video about Coffee or not? (User Poll by therealblankman)
I recently found out that I'm histamine intolerant and can't (or shouldn't) drink coffee anymore. I always wondered why coffee made me sleepy when it woke everybody else up.
This poll and the contest shouldn't be taken too seriously. (As long as Eddie Izzard isn't disqualified for focusing too much on sex,) I can understand that not everyone has the same opinion about the Louis CK video. The contest should be fun!
Big Bad Bear Beaten By a Bee
That looks bad. Stupid, you'd think they take some anti-histamines or one of those allergy pens with them. You never know what you're allergic to until it happens. On second thought, maybe they did have anti allergy stuff but they wanted his face to swell, anything for TV right?
HistNerd gets gold 100. In mother Russia, 100 gold get you! (Sift Talk Post)
Ah, I get it. Your screen name means history nerd. I thought it meant histamine nerd. You know, because you really dig biogenic amines. And who doesn't? Seratonin is my favorite. It regulates sleep, mood, appetite, and even sexual behavior. I call it the "sexy" amine. But histamine is cool too.
And history is also okay. I guess.
