Best of the Best training montage (Korea)

ShakyJake says...

Never seen the second movie, but you aren't definitely missing anything in the third movie, BoneRemake. I caught it on late-night TV many years ago. It's literally about the Asian member of the team fighting against the Ku Klux Klan in hillbilly town, USA. None of the other original cast members were in it, and there's really nothing in it like the original movie's martial arts competition. Unless there's a competition on how many racists you can kick in the face, in which case it would qualify.

Grandpa Jones - The Banjo Am The Instrument For Me

highdileeho says...

Grandpa jones was a regular on 'Hee Haw'. Like most of the regulars he was a characature representing the 'hillbilly' stereotype. He had many hits including 'pickin time' which was covered by now trendy

Another hillbilly characature from hee haw was stringbean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uOy3WdT3mY
Their music have become staples in the current bluegrass or 'newgrass' as it is sometimes refered. Here's one of my favorites from this generation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrcWTuWwBrI

Johnny Cash-One Piece at a time, steal something from work!

rasch dear, nothing is more rocknroll than johnny cash and stealing shit from work.

There's just something about a giant bowtie, a denim vest and hillbilly guitar that makes me reluctant to allow it in the channel. Now if Johnny was biting the head off a mule while injecting heroin into his eyeball on the other hand...

Frankie Boyle Top 5 Jokes

bareboards2 says...

The hardest thing to interpret was one of the orangutan's jokes. "They told me she was a ______"

I think he said "Geordie." The American equivalent would be something like saying "hillbilly" -- a reference to a specific population subset it. Not that hillbillies are particularly hairy. Maybe "hippie chick" -- they don't shave, right?

NASA: Water found in Moon crater

GeeSussFreeK says...

Come and listen to a story about a government body named NASA
A poor underfunded government organization, barely kept its hundreds of thousands of families fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some moon,
And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude.

Water that is, clear gold, for making tea.

Well the first thing you know ol' NASA's a worth is billions there,
Country folk said NASA move away from here
Said Moonyforinia is the place you ought to be
So they loaded up the rockets and moved to Heilein crater B.

hole, that is.
Swimmin pools, moving stars.

The NASA Hillbillies!

nice teeth brit face. i have a question... Go, to a dentist.

Hello there, i wonder if i can help you - i'm british, and it looks like you're having a little trouble with the meanings of words. Don't be embarassed, you're probably in the upper percentile of your nation for knowing that a word with 3 syllables exists. Then attaching some emotional value to the word beyond the literal "it's a little bit like iron" is far beyond even toddler level!

Irony is a way of saying something that is intended to portray the opposite meaning to that which is stated! If we were watching David Mitchell's perfect teeth and everyone was, to a man, thinking "Wow, David Mitchell really doesn't need to go to the dentist!" This might then be an ironic statement.

Possibly the word you were looking for was sardonic. This word would apply to a scornful statement intended to heap derision upon the person it was aimed at.

For example if i were to call you a "burger eating, war mongering, archaic-theocratic bunch of fat inbred hillbillies with an army which has all the gear but no idea, and a penchant for making enemies of countries they're trying to liberate by acting like schoolyard bullies", then we might be referring to a sardonic comment.
