Is There a Russian Coup Underway in America?

@newtboy

not to butt my nose in...
ah who am i kidding..of course i am going to butt my nose in.

you and space are getting caught up on definitions.
neo-conservative which is a fairly new political philosophy from the 1960's by irving kristol, whose name you may recognize as bill-the bloody- kristol (weekly standard) father.

prior to neoconservatism was.../drum roll
neoliberalism.

the fundamental difference is what you alluded to newt, but in my opinion were far too gracious in your definition.
while neoconservatism is far more hawkish, seeing american and "manifest destiny" as her right, and being a global power has a right to use that power to serve her interests, even if that be way of military force.the ultimate goal is to spread american excellence to the world in the form of markets.we sell our awesome and they buy,and we extract what we need for our interests a.k.a business baby.

neoliberalism may be more "dovish" but the goals are the same:political and financial dominance.

and the results are very similar as well.
so while neoliberalism may use economic hitmen, the IMF and the GTO to impose the will of american buisiness, and the neoconservatives may rely on the military heavily..

countries are still stripped of their resources, their labor exploited and a starbucks on every corner.their sovereignty is more a suggestion than an actual respective entity.

both philosophies are abhorrent and destructive and cause incredible suffering....and death.

i am super high right now,so if i misread your guys conflict..please forgive.
if i read it right and helped..
you are welcome!

Don't Tell Mummy!

my dad used to own a 1965 GTO.
that car was a BEAST,and he would do the very same thing when i was around this little girls age.

oh the joy of being pinned to the seat to the deafening growl of the engine, and watching the trees whip by at,what seemed to my little eyes, warp speed.

seatbelts?
what seatbelts?
didn't come standard with a GTO,and who needed em?
(maybe they did and they were just jammed so thoroughly into the cracks of the seats that we didn't even know they were there).

and then my mother made my dad trade the GTO in for VW bug,and so began my fathers slow decline into a suburbia fueled nightmare of mediocrity.

(i kid.he was still pretty fucking awesome).

What dag heard when the iPad was announced

rottenseed says...

I think what rebuilder is getting at as far as personal computers is their full proprietary build-type. Makes it harder to open a device and fondle all the pretty parts and such. This has been a big turn off to many non-apple PC users. An analogy would be like comparing an apple PC to a new Lexus vs. a non-apple PC to a '64 Pontiac GTO. Both are beautiful in their own respect, but one of them is more fun (but probably more of a pain) to get under the hood to modify/f*ck with.

Sr. Jobs would like very much to have a device that is fully integrated with very little need for the user to fondle and adjust. The problem with the design intent to fully automate everything, is the lack of customization that may be desired by an owner. Now, I know you apple-fans and your apps will contest that you can find anything that you'd ever want out there somewhere. But to us, non-apple users, we'd prefer the hassle of setting something up for the ability to breach some EULAs and treat "intellectual property" as a joke. Mac, doesn't make that very easy. Sure you can open it out of the box and be running in 3 minutes, but sometimes I wanna get down and dirty.

"Closed down Big Brother Devices"? Really? Have they blocked the Internet?
You want to know what a closed down device is? Any mobile phone manufactured before the advent of the iPhone. Thanks Apple for forcing the carriers to allow phones do more than just use their crappy "on deck" software.

Likewise, the blind hatred for Apple as a company, while very trendy I know, doesn't really make you any cooler in the eyes of your peers.
There, I said it. That feels better.

You know what my worst-case scenario for Apple is? That the Ipad really rocks, that they sell a bazillion units, and they keep making more of these closed-down big brother devices. Apple is killing the personal computer as a free device, giving us well thought-out interfaces at the cost of the ability to choose for ourselves what we want to do with our gear. And most people won't give a damn. That's why, since the iPhone, and especially the iPad, I've gone from indifferent to antagonistic towards Apple. And I'm writing this on a Mac.

Michael Moore Responds to Canadian Press About Wait Times

westy says...

well it was a fairly idiotic question that only required a simplistic answer.

you cannot expect to come to universal conclusion based on personal exsperance surly if you were goin gto ask this questoin you would resesrch first to see what the waiting times were recorded to be / do your own research to prove your theory or personal exsperance.

If annything this questioner shows a serious lack of understanding of basic science or rational thinking.

NVIDIA ... Overclocking for the Serious Gamers!

Farhad2000 says...

I had a 9800 PRO and I just couldn't stand the choppiness anymore and ditch it for a marginal upgrade with the ATI/AMD Radeon X800 GTO (I thought I bought the pipe unlockable version but alas no.)

If you are looking for something cheap and good from Nvidia, you can't go wrong with the 6600.
