Raj (from Apprentice) sneaks elephant across Mexican border

Dallas Forth Worth Star-Telegraph

But any Texan knows that we can go down and fish or wade freely from parks and private ranches along the Rio Grande, with or without an elephant.

We want most of the river kept that way, although a few crossings could use better Border Patrol roads or a mile or two of fence.

A few miles from the border, though, somebody always stops you and asks who you are, your citizenship status and other pertinent questions.

Such as, "Where did you get the elephant?"

That's what happened the moment Plunkett and his trailer hit the Border Patrol checkpoint, five miles from the ranch. If Bhakta wanted to prove how easy it is to sneak an elephant into the country, he wound up proving that the Border Patrol is on the job.

"It was amazing to me how many officers showed up when we hit the checkpoint," Plunkett said. "They had two guys, then four guys, then 50 guys in a matter of minutes. They gave us a thorough workover. I came away very impressed with the Border Patrol."

That was good news to Roy Cervantes, spokesman for the patrol's Valley headquarters in Edinburg. Officers there catch about 300 border crossers a day, half not from Mexico.

"It's apparent to me that [Bhakta] has no idea what we do down here on the southern border," Cervantes said. "We have always allowed ranchers to use the river for livestock and recreation. We don't normally go out and stop someone like that. We use sensors and cameras to watch the crossings where smugglers bring in human cargo or drugs. ... Officers stopped the truck at a checkpoint within minutes. Our enforcement worked."

Neither Bhakta nor Schwartz returned phone calls Wednesday.

The setting for the campaign commercial was a historic Texas ranch owned since 1876 by the Lerma family. Bobby Lerma, a Brownsville lawyer, is a Republican.

"They told me this guy wanted to come out and shoot a commercial," Lerma said. "I figured it was a good way for him to learn something about the border. I live 20 yards from the water. I think the border's pretty secure. I want all these people who want a big fence to tell me: Where do you want the fence? Right by my house? Where do I water my cattle?"

Great TV. Lying sack of washed up TV reality star. Shame on raspy voice lipsticked pig whores for broadcasting this shit.

Can't stand the heat? Ramsay Loses it (NSFW - Language)

Krupo says...

It's just like with so many jobs, SG - (this is accounting related so I'm allowed to participate despite my self-imposed temporary exile) - a partner or senior manager instructs the juniors how to do the work, and corrects them when they do it wrong. They charge 10x as much for their time as we do so they have to apply their time where it's needed most, not fixing A/C's or chopping stuff.

They inspect the work and impart training where necessary. The people I work with don't swear anywhere near as much (or at all, for that matter!), but they're not chefs, they're "professionals". (I use quotes b/c I don't want to put down Ramsay; it's a different type of work environment fer sure though). I've been in kitchen environments, though, and they're intense. This is great TV.

I love the inconsistent bleeping of Ramsay's swearing though - how odd.

enzo - that's brave talk, but if you need that job to put food on your table I don't think you'd be reacting the same way - a chef is like the captain of a ship, and what he says goes. I've been in both just as uptight as well as more relaxed places - and it's really interesting to see how everything goes down - especially in terms of the amount of deferrence given to the chef!
