Hate to break it to you Doogle, but you can actually get away with it. By jumping over the plant in such a way that the runner does it, you can actually avoid getting hit by the pipe plant. Just look at all the other speed runs for SMB, and you will see how alot of people have been able to make the same jump without actually cheating.

The main problem all these blindly repeated "arguments" have is the fact that the answers to them require a literally mind boggling amount of time to occur. You see the explanation that a star came from a compaction of gases etc but to wrap your head around the idea that it took an unfathomably long amount of time and not *poof* is just to hard for the average (or even above average) mind to conceive of except in the vaguest of terms. The brain can't really grasp the sheer size of it, so they prefer the simpler explanation of a wish granting genie man taking 6 days (omnipotence only goes so far apparently) to put it all in order.

Yeah the scare tactics on the nukes is cheap and probably very misguided. If anything, a global push for nuclear power would lead to a better system of control and monitoring of fissile materials.

The nuclear genie is out of the lamp - we need to deal with a world where many countries have the technology to create a nuclear weapon - because it's happening whether we like it or not.
