Hilarious fight between Hannity and Doucey because Hannity wants to spread Trump’s lies, this one about how Trump really won by a huge margin not realized because Democrats in New Hampshire have taken over the Republican primary, first claiming Democrats could just vote in the Republican primary, a lie he got direct from Trump, not true, then after Doucey told the truth about that and Trump had a weekend tirade about being corrected he came up with the lie that they could just switch parties then go vote in the Republican primary on the same day, another lie the cut off date for switching parties was early October. Doucey corrected that lie too, at which point Hannity got pissed and accused him of being a leftist…because honesty and facts are only for leftists while pure made up lies are all that the right peddles, I don’t think he meant to be making that point so clearly and publicly but he did, and it’s accurate, the only accurate thing he’s said lately.
MAGA is nothing but lies and whining now, a failing cult whose prophet is a child molesting rapist tax cheat that fomented a coup to stay in power, stole and sold highly classified top secret military documents, sold a list of our own allied countries spies to Saudi Arabia for $2 billion (and they executed many), and presided over what he made the worst year in American history by almost every measure, 2020.

On Monday Trump said Biden will destroy America IF HE EVER GETS INTO OFFICE.

Enjoy your cult of lies led by a dementia ridden criminal. He’s falling apart exactly like his father who had Alzheimer’s which runs in families (a condition Trump repeatedly took advantage of in his fathers dying years to forgive himself of tens of millions in debts to Fred’s estate and tried to rewrite his dad’s will to cut out everyone else but was caught…and you want a similarly easily tricked dottering fool in the highest office).
And a Florida Senator (Garcia) and the CFO of Florida have decided it’s wrong to take any tax payer money to buy poor children or elderly people lunch or health care (she chairs the children family and elders affairs committee), but they should take $5 million of taxpayer money to hand it to Trump to help him with his criminal attorney fees….yes, they’re trying to give alleged billionaire Trump a taxpayer bailout for his criminal charges despite having massive poverty and lack of services in the state and an over $130 billion in debt. MAGA priorities on full display.

I may have to check some of this stuff out, essential reading for my descent into dirty old manhood. But then I've also had some friends who have recommended Gabriel Garcia Marquez's; Memories of My Melancholy Whores.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: FIFA and the World Cup

radx says...

It's not just FIFA itself who are exempt from taxes. It's also everyone associated with them, including construction, merchandising, and sponsoring, from the very second the World Cup was "awarded" to Brazil until they finally fuck off again.

No worries though. FIFA employed a very renowned expert as their chief ethics investigator, none other than Michael Garcia, who did such a crackerjack job when Lehman went belly-up.

And while we're at it, Jerome Valcke, the arrogant wanker at 5:15, is quite a piece of work himself. During his tenure as FIFA's marketing director, he ran a racket with VISA and Mastercard resulting in a penalty to the tune of $90m and was subsequently axed, only to be rehired as general fucking secretary.

The Death of Jerry Garcia as Reported on ABC's 'Nightline'

chingalera says...

I used to hang-out in Jerry Garcia's daughter's (Trixie?) art studio at SFAI when my GF was enrolled there-She had a studio on the second floor near the communal bong, and she always had good herb. I was one of about 10 people who knew who she was(GF worked in the rack room) and that she was even there-This was during Garcia's divorce and about 2.5 years before he died.

She's livin' la vida now I'll bet, Jerry left her and her ma and sibs around 5 million to fight over....

Yeah, it was meant to be F1 cars; but Bernie Ecclestone (F1 commercial rights holder) decided against it, as he thought Stallone would give F1 a bad name.

He was right: It earned seven nominations at the 22nd Golden Raspberry Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, Worst Screen Couple (Burt Reynolds and Sylvester Stallone) and twice for Worst Supporting Actor (Reynolds and Stallone), with Estella Warren winning Worst Supporting Actress (also for Planet of the Apes).

List of F1, Indy car and CART drivers in the film:
Jean Alesi
Michael Andretti
Kenny Bräck
Patrick Carpentier
Cristiano Da Matta
Adrian Fernández
Christian Fittipaldi
Dario Franchitti
Luiz Garcia Jr.
Mauricio Gugelmin
Michel Jourdain Jr.
Tony Kanaan
Juan Pablo Montoya
Roberto Moreno
Max Papis
Oriol Servia
Alex Tagliani
Paul Tracy
Jimmy Vasser
Jacques Villeneuve

Here is an Excelent Racing movie: Grand Prix (1966)

It won the Academy Award Oscar for: Best Effects / Sound Effects, Best Film Editing, Best Sound in 1967.

It's the only Official F1 movie. The sound is quite incredibly. There is a scene in the movie; as they race around the streets of Monaco, with a Panavision 65mm camera strapped to the hood of the car.

All the best,

Thanks for the *promote

There haven't been enough movies featuring racing cars, and even more so for F1. The French film Taxi (or taxi driver, or something like that) purported to have F1 cars, but they looked more like F3000 to me, there were a few others spread over many years... and then there's Rush and the Senna film all at once - life is good

Wasn't the Stallone one featuring Indy cars?

III. The Global Deployment of US Military Personnel

There are 6000 military bases and/ or military warehouses located in the U.S. (See Wikipedia, February 2007).

Total Military Personnel is of the order of 1,4 million of which 1,168,195 are in the U.S and US overseas territories.

Taking figures from the same source, there are 325,000 US military personnel in foreign countries:

800 in Africa,
97,000 in Asia (excluding the Middle East and Central Asia),
40,258 in South Korea,
40,045 in Japan,
491 at the Diego Garcia Base in the Indian Ocean,
100 in the Philippines, 196 in Singapore,
113 in Thailand,
200 in Australia,
and 16,601 Afloat.

In Europe, there are 116,000 US military personnel including 75,603 who are stationed in Germany.

In Central Asia about 1,000 are stationed at the Ganci (Manas) Air Base in Kyrgyzstan and 38 are located at Kritsanisi, in Georgia, with a mission to train Georgian soldiers.

In the Middle East (excludng the Iraq war theater) there are 6,000 US military personnel, 3,432 of whom are in Qatar and 1,496 in Bahrain.

In the Western Hemisphere, excluding the U.S. and US territories, there are 700 military personnel in Guantanamo, 413 in Honduras and 147 in Canada.

At least Paul would bring home the troops and close the overseas bases.

And with the debt at incredible levels, can we afford to do anything besides that?
