Ricky Gervais: My Ugliest Self-Photos

Yogi says...

Why isn't Jessica Ennis in the tags. She's a gold medal winner in an event that's actually seriously tough...it's not like the 500 different swimming events that you can compete in and get medals galore! She's fucking awesome!

Also not a Harry Potter fan or anything, they seem all well and good but I really like Daniel Radcliffe. Whenever I see him in an interview or something he just seems genuinely polite and nice to everyone. I think if you're gonna have that much money and fame, the least you can do is be a good dude and he certainly seems like one.

Scientific Weight Loss Tips

LarsaruS says...

>> ^pyloricvalve:

In "Why we get fat", Gary Taubes argues very persuasively that the above is almost entirely wrong. Increasing exercise will have have the effect of increasing hunger or reducing your activity at other times through tiredness. Eating less will likewise reduce your activity level or lead to levels of hunger that are intolerable in the long term. The way to lose weight according to him is the Atkins, South Beach, Primal method of reducing sugar and carb intake to something very low. Personally I found it very convincing and I strongly recommend the book.

Yup, I've done Keto combined with Intermittent Fasting (I usually eat one meal a day after I get home from work, sometimes I eat lunch too if we go out and eat at my workplace) and I've lost ~30 kg (~66 pounds) in 5-6 months and I have not been hungry once since I entered ketosis. No exercise involved at all either. (Yes yes... 1 data point does not a fact make, especially when they are subjective feelings)

So instead of eating sugar with more sugar and fat-free foods with added sugar in it to make it palatable... eat natural full-fat products and protein and be full all day... or you could eat sugar and have an insulin spike 30 mins later and end up with a lower blood sugar than you started with... unless you eat again. Ergo the "You should 5 meals a day" thing.

The Texas Renaissance Festival in in Montgomery county just north of Magnolia, Tx. in Todd Mission,Tx. (mapfart) -It's touted by organizers to be the biggest such event in the country...Lotta fun, great place for the whole family, plenty to do and see and EAT!

3 sifters are in Dallas, the only other I know besides myself lives not too far from Houston, where I'm at...

Anywhere we hold it it's gonna mean some driving.

I suggested this place:
http://www.firstmondaycanton.com/

Thursday through Sunday before the first Monday of every month in Canton, Texas this massive outdoor flea market and trade fair rocks about 10 acres of all kinds of coolness.....Bring a couple hundred bucks and come home with plenty of great stuff!!

Or just pay admission and stroll and check out everything, food vendors galore, stuff to do....

Renfest rocks and you can stay all day and night, and there's massive brews, music, dancing, staged-events...great costumes, plenty of comic-con-type costumes, some extremely elaborate and well-made. Always a winner, Renfest.

Or we could do one of those trough buffets like a Golden Corral and crash the place and build a drunken mountain outta mac n cheese and chicken tendorz.....$12.95 to get thrown out of a Golden Corral??? Priceless.

Medical Professionals Shut Down Minister's Announcement

Of course, most people would agree that refugee claimants should receive no better health coverage than Canadians, but pregnant women, diabetics and people having heart attacks get free care. Why shouldn't refugee claimants get it too? This doesn't make it equal. I can't believe that's the best rationale they came up with. I'm curious what the real intent was. Save a few bucks? Pander to the racists? Didn't think there were enough of them. We're not America yet, are we?>> ^BoneRemake:

If it is life threatening why not ? I am for it. When I have a heart attack or get hit by a bus or a sifter finds me, I like to think a rod in my bone and machines and Doctors galore are provided. I do not understand how they are getting anything other than that which is available to me. What do they get that I do not have access to if I needed it. Other than wait times. Maybe I can assume they are going to the front of the line ?

What Homosexuality Is Not

It isn't clear that the cause is entirely genetic. There is strong evidence that environmental factors (e.g. in utero hormone exposure) seem to play a role. I think it's safest to say it is somehow neurological in nature, however all neurological development is an extremely complicated interplay of environment and genetic predispositions. The fact is we don't understand the neurological underpinnings of attraction well enough to say how exactly it develops, and therefore what factors contribute.
There is almost certainly a genetic component however.

Well I know this; there is a certain amount of wiggle room for sure otherwise we wouldn't have fetishes galore (that would be your psychology/brain/sub-conscious screwing up your natural instincts). Those can't ALL be necessarily genetic in nature. Yes, I understand the hormone issue, but to me that is an entirely separate subject that doesn't really apply. BUT, it is terribly interesting. But, certain types of visual cortex information and recognition has to start getting built into the system that is linked to your natural predisposition for sexual reproduction--some of that HAS TO happen even while you're In Utero and of course in adolescence. Now what all turns on and changes here is a slight mystery and MAY determine your sexuality, but it was determined a long time ago via genetics when the event would turn on and what would turn on. If it can change, this doesn't matter as it will still fire on cure, it's just that they have to figure it out first. Same thing goes for gender identity disorder. Same issues to some extent, but some things have been even more~enhanced.

It's what you find pleasing to the eye, these things start getting encoded and built into the brain as soon as the brain is being created (atleast the instinctual element, babies like symmetry and hate non-symmetry, usually, that type of encoding). But you're right on the other stuff, I just meant they "may" have something to worry about in the "testing" department in the future; were the U.S. becomes the China of gay children `In Utero`, if you know what I mean--could get ugly and laws may need to be passed...

Hopefully I didn't make things more confusing.
This is PART, JUST PART of the Pandora's Box a test would bring about...

House of the Undying scene in GoT S01E10 - disappointing (Blog Entry by dystopianfuturetoday)

Ornthoron says...

Caution: Spoilers galore.

I found the House of the Undying scene to have a fittingly creepy mood, even though it was changed a lot. The scene with Drogo seemed to me to be stolen directly from the Accepted tests that Aes Sedai novices go through in The Wheel of Time, but it was a powerful scene nonetheless. I think they missed an opportunity when Dany exited north of the wall to show her a glimpse of the dangers coming from the north. What I missed most compared to the book was the vision Dany has of Rhaegar playing the harp and talking to some woman about his son, which is an important scene for a certain popular fan theory.

What annoyed me most in this season was how the story of Jon Snow and Qhorin Halfhand played out. You didn't really get to see how Qhorin became an important mentor to Jon Snow. Even worse: It was not pointed out clear enough that Qhorin practically ordered Jon to kill him in order to be able to infiltrate the wildlings. Instead it looked like Jon just killed him out of self-defense.

But there were more things I liked than disliked. Theon's battle speech scene was hilarious, and they pulled off Jaqen's face-changing really well. I also liked Luwin's demise; it shocked me how he was just stabbed out of hand, even though I knew he would die. I fear it might be a bit cryptic to non-book readers why Winterfell was suddenly burned down, though. There was also some brilliant acting from Sophie Turner as Sansa when she learns she doesn't have to marry Joffrey after all.

All in all, I liked most of the changes in this season. Some of them even made the story better than in the book, at least for the TV medium.

I like how we are being all buddy buddy now. It makes my face rupture with smiles galore. Often I think maybe I should save my down vote for after a video sifts, but that really requires a lot of after thought on my part. I am not great with work after the fact. I am more of an impulse voter.

I don't agree with his review (The game is damn fun) but I really agree with the very last written comment in this video.

You can have a guy kick another so hard in the stomach that he throws up all over guy A's leg and you can have dismemberment and blood and guts galore, but nipples are a big no no for some reason.

Most characters in this game aren't wearing alot of clothes but Kitana and co's oufits are basically colored dental floss.

The female character are basically fighting naked but that little piece of cloth apparently makes all the difference.
