Best fake soccer dive (fall) to draw a winning penalty shot
The reason (traditionally) is that soccer does not have many long interruptions, like American football or Baseball. Free-Kick, Throw-In, Change-ins, even Penalty shots - everything happens quite fast and barely has influence on the game time of 90 minutes. There is only one longer break in-between. So the 3 Refs on the field usually have 1 other Ref standing on the sidelines who will give his overview input on things they may have missed. He is the only one who would be able to evaluate video material - but that would have to happen extremely fast, with barely any discussion.
Where the hell is Ronaldo?
Why doesn't soccer have instant replay for the refs? All I can come up with is they like the spectacle and outrage of blatant floppers getting awarded free kicks. Without that outrage they would have to invent a new excuse to riot.

Japanese Soccer Player Shunsuke Nakamura amazing free kick
From the same post, That wasn’t the first time Nakamure demonstrated his free kick accuracy for a Japanese TV show:
Sportsmanship And A Big F**k You To The Ref
Sometimes when you mess up you have to own up to it as a referee. The best thing he could've done in this situation after making the call is say it was an inadvertent whistle and restart play with a drop ball to the keeper. Which he would've done anyways if there was a stoppage of play that doesn't result in a free kick, like a quick correction of a players kit.
The goalkeeper should have told the referee that he had a problem, I believe the ref would then stop the game so the keeper can correct his equipment. Outfield players would have to go off the pitch but for keepers, the game stops.
It would have been nice if the ref had let it slide but I don't see this has a horrible decision or a big f-you to the ref.
One very special free kick
This is actually not considered legal in the Laws of the Game. I'm looking to see if FIFA has weighed in on this yet but it doesn't look like it. Anyways in Law 13 - Free Kicks it explicitly states "the ball is in play when it is kicked and moves".
I was thinking about this and compare it to if a keeper was in his own penalty area and used his arm to knock the ball into play. That wouldn't be allowed even though he is allowed to use his hands inside his own penalty area. So I think it's pretty obvious, kicking is to be done with the foot.
Everything Wrong With Prometheus In 4 Minutes Or Less
Jeez, this lame video series couldn't even do Prometheus right, and that's a free kick
The Most Perfect Free Kick You'll Ever See
>> ^radx:
It's almost as good as one of Beckham's or Juninho's free kicks.
Yeah ok...but Beckham and Juninho can't play anywhere near Messi's level.

An honest futbol player!? No way...
The player in maroon that was tackled thought it was a fair play by the other player so instead of the free kick he puts it out of bounds to give them the ball.
Brutal Soccer Kick Knockout
>> ^kymbos:
Yellow card? Don't they have a 'kicking in danger' rule in soccer? Man, he'd get at least 3 weeks suspension in my code.
It's called "Dangerous Play" and it's punished by an indirect free kick. But this was more than dangerous play because there was obvious contact and it was reckless. There's are argument to be made for a red card as in the player might have not cared if he had hurt the other player. The problem is we are only seeing a snippet of the game, and based on the incidents before this one would color the referees judgement quite considerably. Judging by the reactions of the players it wasn't necessarily a contentious game, so I'm leaning towards just calling a foul, the player looks to be legitimately trying to simply clear the ball out of harms way, he messed up he didn't try to hurt someone.
Again there's several ways to look at this...just a clip from a game does not tell us the whole story and the referee would use the experience of that game and the reactions of the players in his decision making process.
Amazing keeper blunder
The keeper has a right to be upset.
[CutPaste]
Law 12 (Fouls and Misconduct) includes the words “prevents the goalkeeper from releasing the ball from his hands” as an offense punishable by an indirect free kick. By tradition and interpretation, this violation is described more generally as any action by a player which interferes with the opposing goalkeeper’s ability to get the ball back into active play freely and quickly.
A goalkeeper is considered to be in the process of “releasing the ball” from the first moment when he or she has clearly taken hand control of the ball until the moment when the ball has been clearly released into play. This includes any time when the goalkeeper is:
•bouncing the ball,
•running with the ball
•in the process of dropping the ball in preparation for kicking it
•throwing the ball
During the time the goalkeeper has control of the ball and is preparing to release it into active play, an opponent may not stand or move so close as to restrict the direction or distance of the goalkeeper’s release.

So, not so much a keeper blunder, but an obviously bad decision by the referee to NOT call a foul on the player who clearly and intentionally placed himeself to interfere with the goalkeeper's distribution.
Soccer Player Kicks Owl To Death
I would have loved to have been the referee only so I could kick the guy off the field for that. Lynch mob totally appropriate. This guy lacks some very basic decency and while he didn't kick it like you kick a free kick, to lob the bird out like that was wholly inappropriate. Maybe someone should go lob his cherished childhood pet after it's hurt, see how he feels?
He's scum and I hate him.
Self-inflicted football injury
it looked like the ref gave the red team a free kick.
