How chicken McNuggets are made... in Canada

Drachen_Jager says...

They put a foaming agent used in Yoga mats and running shoes in the hamburger buns (same stuff Subway was busted for BTW). The stuff is so nasty it carries a mandatory prison sentence in some countries if you feed it to people.

Does anyone actually believe anything they have to say about their food?

Belgian Firemen Cover Riotcops in FOAM!

maatc says...

Thats why: “Belgian firemen were protesting against national budget cuts for the fire department in Brussels on Monday. Firemen from all the country gathered in front of Prime Minister’s office with fire trucks and blocked traffic in Brussels’ ring road. They burned tyres in the streets and sprayed water and foam towards police guarding the protest. At some point police officers stood knee-deep in foam on the street. Talks are ongoing on the ministerial level on the new Belgian budget, and firemen are protesting against cuts in their insurance benefits and insufficient staffing.”

Fix Your Posture with This Animated Guide to Sitting Right

I bought a super comfortable ergonomic chair from Steelcase called the Think. I love everything about it. It's extremely adjustable and comfortable. It's great for everyday use--I use it constantly and I never get uncomfortable or suffer from aches due to prolonged use.

Sometimes, I'll watch a movie, and I'll put the back spring on the lightest setting and lean back to relax. However, for gaming, I like to lock the back in the vertical position for support. It seems to help me play better this way. I also like the way the arms articulate more than other chairs I've used.

I can already tell from the build quality of this chair that it will far outlast the previous chair I used, where the back broke off, and the fabric tore, exposing the foam inside.

It was slightly on the expensive side, but it's true what they say: You get what you pay for. And with something as important to your physical health as an office chair, I find it quite justifiable to spend several hundred dollars on such a tool.

So, how did they do this? Did they pump air into the lower decks? Pump water out of the upper decks? Stuff a bunch of foam noodles under one side?

Whipped Cream Frozen With Liquid Nitrogen

rich_magnet says...

I expect that because the whipped cream has so little mass (being mostly "air" pockets) it would have insufficient thermal mass to actually cause any freezing of mouth tissue. Also, to foam being an excellent insulator, it would melt fairly slowly, again limiting/preventing any freezing of mouth tissue.

Julian Assange went front and center again with a piece in some new'ish Aussie news outlet called The Stringer. I wouldn't have noticed it, but Zero Hedge picked it up.

Assange's claim: Google and the US State Department have closer ties than anyone would be willing to admit, with Jared Cohen, Director of Google Ideas, acting as "Google’s director of regime change".

Hefty claims, although lacking in detail. "Don't be evil"... it had such a nice ring to it, back in the days.

Edit: And to put the icing on the cake, Foreign Policy released official documents showing how the Reagan administration gave target intel to the Iraqis, knowing full well it'll lead to a chemical attack. Great timing, all things considered.

What you don't realize is that the boxes are filled with those foam packing peanuts.

The idea was sound, it was the application that failed. I've seen something similar work very well with full 55gal drums and a foam pad, damn thing would actually bounce itself upright every time.

Incredible Space Saving Furniture

Hive13 says...

I rather have my nice, large, solid-wood, comfy, king-sized bed with a high end tempur-pedic mattress, my handmade armorie, and a nice, solid wood desk. Sleeping on cheap-particle board and foam as an adult seems like the most useless idea to me.

Amazing Foam Day! No surprises, just LOTS of Foam!

charliem says...

Its caused by breakdown of biological products mixing in with water rather violently. Usually when a large algal bloom dies, the breakdown of the matter acts like a surfactant (destroyer of surface tensions!!!), which causes the foam.

Not usually all that harmful.
