Reid did do that, but everyone who reported it (hell, even Reid himself) pointed out that he had no proof to back up his claim. This might be a good example of what Cenk is talking about. Reid took ferocious attacks from the cable media and in particular Fox News.

Romney, not really. The worst it's been (as far as I can tell) is some people on MSNBC pointing out that he's lying, and showing how the facts show he's lying. It's probably balanced by FNC replaying and repeating it as if it's the truth, right after they manipulate the available statistics to try and make a dishonest case for how the President handled the economy.

Operation Fox Hunt - Anonymous vs Fox news

And MSNBC isn't on it knees slurping OBAMA juice? Give me a break.

No, they are not.

Maybe they're not frothing at the mouth to regurgitate any half-baked horseshit conspiracy BREAKING NEWS story about muffins or cigarettes or secret UN camps like FNC, but MSNBC has close to as many negative stories about Obama as Fox does.

You probably won't read any of these statistics, since the little "liberal media" fantasy world you've created will crumble around your feet, but here you go:

(this is a study from August 2010, but it's no diff today, and maybe worse)

• During the past 90 days, MSNBC has run a total of 1,193 stories about Obama with only 44% being positive while 55% were negative towards the President. The positive to negative ratio is -11%

• In the past 90 days, FoxNews has run 2,064 stories about President Obama, 46% were overall positive and 53% overall negative. The ratio of Positive to Negative stories is -7%

Also, how the fuck does Anon expect to "shut down" Fox? I don't get it

Their comeuppance should be delivered by ... the power of free, informed markets.

Yeah, you let me know if you ever find any free and informed markets.
Fox is nothing but the proganda wing of the republican party preying on week minds. Take them down.

Keith Olbermann Special Comment: False Objectivity vs. Truth

NetRunner says...

@Tymbrwulf, would you remove editorials and regular columns from newspapers as well?

Also, how would you regulate such a thing? What if FNC responded by saying "O'Reilly is objective"? How do you prove or disprove that?

For that matter, is Megyn Kelly really objective? Major Garrett? The gang at Fox and Friends? Changing networks, how about Joe Scarborough? Chuck Todd? Contessa Brewer? Tamron Hall?

What's the litmus test? How do I find out if I'm objective or not?

TDS: CNN Hires Erick Erickson

NetRunner says...

@mkknyr, there's the broadcast version of Fox, which competes with NBC, ABC, and CBS, and then there's a separate cable-only Fox News Channel (FNC) which competes with cable-only rivals, CNN and MSNBC.

Fox News Channel is a 24-hour news network, while Fox is a broadcast network that hosts shows like the Simpsons, American Idol, House, 24, Fringe, etc, as well as local news (though they have no national network news show, unlike the other three).

FOX & Friends Discuss: Atheism vs. Christianity

PostalBlowfish says...

Yeah, that was unbelievably civil. I couldn't believe it when it ended and no one had yet talked over someone else or shouted another person down or called them names. Definitely not representative of most of FNC's programming.

It's Not the White House's War on Fox...

PostalBlowfish says...

Notice the same trend in this clip as you see in conservative posters. Bombastic, treasonous claims, supported with no proof whatsoever.

The President isn't anti-America, he's the President WE ELECTED. WE did not elect a person who does NOT represent us. WE elected a President that does not support FOX NEWS. It's FOX that is anti-America, and they will be throwing this tantrum until conservatives get the White House back. And then after that, they will be asking anyone who doesn't agree why they hate America.

They don't even hide it anymore. FNC should not be able to use the name they have or the slogan they use, both are complete fabrications. I wish "news" was accountable to some fact checking in this country.

Fox News "Not Really A News Station"

PostalBlowfish says...

FOX is doing the job that the 'state-run' mainstream media is supposed to do: question authority. (1) The mainstream media losers are dying both in readership and viewership...and they can't figure out why! (2) If reality had a liberal bias it wouldn't need so many Obamagandists to make theft, class envy and monstrous federal tyranny seem appealing. (3) FOX can have any viewpoint it likes, but it can't lie about the facts. No one can. (4) And the facts do not support the workability or legitimacy of obamacare. (5)

1. State run media? Seriously, proof or stfu, you paranoid mental case.
2. I heard they invented this thing called an "Internet." I'm surprised I have to school you under the circumstances.
3. If the media loves Obama and his health care proposal so much, why do they insist on incessantly spreading stories opposing the idea? Why don't they just expose the bankruptcy of the opposition's bare ideological obstructions? Why don't they just tell us why we need it? I have an answer for you - you're delusional, and the media doesn't love Obama or his health care proposal. The PEOPLE love Obama and his health care proposal, and therefore the media has to report on it if it is to remain viable in the free market.
4. FNC cannot have any viewpoint it likes, it must have the viewpoint of the hard right. Plus, yes they can and have lied about facts. Plus, they can simply ignore the inconvenient facts, so what does it matter anyway?
5. If facts do not support the legitimacy of the current health care ideas, then please explain to us how it is that many nations around the world operate with far more aggressive policies while providing better quality health care to their people. That's a fact. And guess what? It suggests we're not doing enough.

You can't be taken seriously when all you do is point a finger and show no evidence of your batshit claims.

She made some very good points there. If even Conservative commentators are willing to state the obvious, the GOP is truly in trouble.

What points?
I mean really...tell me...what did they just impart upon us?

1. Someone wrote an article and called her nutty.
2. That investigation is probably the reason she quit.
3. Shes fucking nutty, and ill suited.

Like that needed to be "analysed"?
