FYI - If she lived, she wasn't electrocuted.

The camera angle made it hard to see how close she was to the live uninsulated bus bar, I was wondering "How the hell is she sitting there without getting electrocuted by THAT?"

She is lucky to not only be alive, but also not have caused a phase-phase flashover (the other near her feet) that would have been both visually spectacular and a certain death.

I normally insta-downvote animal cruelty, but I didnt downvote this because it serves as a reminder of what a cnut edison was. Admittedly I had seen this before in some documentary film (Mr. Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A. Leuchter, Jr.) and was disgusted.

Everything I've heard about edison since only makes him more of a slimeball, and Tesla more of a genius. Apparently he did this to show how dangerous AC and Teslas ideas were. He didnt give a crap about the elephants criminal record this was about money.

I tried sifting this a few years ago, and it got killed because it was considered too graphic. Glad to see it finally got sifted up.

Imagine if a killer whale or a lion mauled and ate three trainers. The public (many of you, in fact) would take up pitchforks and torches demanding the termination of such a beast. This is exactly what happened here.
Although admittedly, it would seem far less cruel if the elephant didn't have such a damn cute name!

now.. to be SLIGHTLY fair to Edison:

so, at the very least he didn't walk into a circus and think "Alright, what can I zap today?"

While I know that Bioshock didn't invent the "electrocute people in water" idea (it was in Quake with the lightning gun and that probably wasn't the first, either), that effect and the implementation looked practically identical to Bioshock.

It's not ironic that the dogs have to be taught to fight each other, that's just the way it works. These animals would not otherwise attack each other so viciously, as the likelihood of getting themselves injured or killed is too high. That's why animals develop various non-violent methods of resolving disputes (baring teeth, growling, raising hackles, etc.).

The main reason that this video is not amusing in the least is that the flip side of this coin is gruesome, inhumane and abhorrent. If these animals cannot be taught to fight viciously until one of them is dead or they are physically separated by their handlers, they will be killed. A fighting dog that doesn't fight isn't worth shit to a person who fights dogs. So while someone felt it would be fun to put clever musical touches on this particular video, I would challenge them to do the same to the video of these dogs being drowned, electrocuted, strangled, shot, hacked with a machete or all of the above.

This video absolutely endorses dog fighting, as it tries frame this phase of a fighting dog's life as amusing or cute, when in fact it is anything but. If these dogs do not "overcome" their natural urges to inspect each other and integrate in a peaceful social hierarchy, they will be killed by their handlers in cold blood.

The humor that is being attempted by the video's creator is not lost on me, but I cannot ignore the greater context of dog fighting simply because of some silly music.

I am a regular lurker here on VideoSift, and this is the first time I cursed the fact that I am not a bronze star user, as this is the first video I felt like down-voting.
