Installing Android 2.2 on the Droid now. Supposed to be a huge improvement. Plus I can develop for that phone without problems.

But you did start this off by saying you weren't into "hardwired buttons" because Windows isn't as solid as the OS on an ipod Touch.
I just don't think that makes any sense - what's the point of comparing them when they are so different?

The fact that phones use haptics suggests to me that the feedback from physical buttons is something that we all need and miss with touch devices. Personally I would like a real keyboard on my phone but getting that bigger screen seems like a fair trade-off. Maybe a slide-out keyboard is a future option for me.

On the iphone on the other hand, while playing a 3d game, if I hit the home button the screen scales out and fades smoothly, and the audio slowly fades out. No pauses..no black screens..no sudden sound cut outs. It is extremely graceful. But that is enough of me rambling.

I wouldn't bother with this any more but the fact that it's the EVO is a sore spot.

The EVO has to be one of the WORST phones I've ever touched (yes I own one, I own many many phones), if you want a decent Android phone, the Nexus One is the best at the moment. Don't even start on the Droid, I don't understand any one who likes that piece of junk, looks like ass, feels like ass, nothing special hardware wise.

There is nothing wrong with loving Android, as in the OS, also I understand some of the points in the video are about Android in general but the EVO is rubbish, the only time I ever touch it is when I need to test something and even then, I dread it.

I'm not currently in possession of the iPhone 4 but I've been using iOS4 for a while, it is an excellent OS, Android has its merits but it is still playing catch up. Maybe Gingerbread.

Sweet! That's cool. I didn't know there was an air client for Droid. Also didn't know you could network into a desktop air app like that. Hmmm.

I have a Droid and although I can put movies and TV shows on it Flash would be a big deal and a lot of fun. A Hulu app for Droid...awesome.

Yea, the others are definitely better. The specs say the Droid is capacitive, so that's what I'm going by.

I have a Droid, but the screen really isn't terrible. I can't touch the screen lightly enough that it doesn't register, so sensitivity isn't ever an issue. The only problems I come across with accuracy are either with very small links (zoomed out on web pages) or when using the vertical keyboard (might miss the key 1 or 2 times out of 10).

Those accuracy issues are compensated by the physical keyboard and pinch-zooming in the browser (Dolphin). I also have 2.1 (cyanogen + 1Ghz kernal) on there so speech-to-text is available as well.

I certainly wouldn't complain if the screen were more accurate, but it isn't as much of a problem as the robotic test would seem to indicate. Besides, I figured my Droid would be obsolete in under a year anyway. =)
